Rush. Yes!
Rush. Yes!
Twist and Shout by the Beatles. I like most of their other stuff.
Takin Care of Business by Bachman Turner Overdrive
Livin On a Prayer and You Give Love a Bad Name by Bon Jovi
Cherry Pie by Warrant
Welcome to the Jungle by GnR
I find all these songs to be obnoxious and overrated, mostly due to the annoying vocals.
hotel california.
dave matthews band
OAR
Pink Floyd, RUSH, Styxx
If any of you fu*kers say U2, I'll stop feeding the Ethiopians.
Not sure that everyone loved them, but this "One Thing" song always made me laugh because it was so bad:
I also despise Dave Matthews Band, but it seems like there's a fairly large contingent of us DMB haters. Not sure if it fits the theme of the OP
Also I hate all that EDM stuff that all the kids are talking about nowadays

Are you agreeing with the person that said Rush? or are you listing Rush and Yes?
Is Rush universally liked enough to even be a viable answer to the OP's question? They should be universally liked, but I don't think they are.
My vote would be for Dave Matthews Band right now, but when The Joshua Tree came out and that was all anyone was playing and Bono got a tad goofy, I despised U2. But it had more to more to do with all the fans rather than U2. Radiohead is also up there. They are seemingly immune to bad reviews.

Jack Johnson. WTF?
Agreed.
But the absolute worst is Foo Fighters. Dave Grohl could possibly be the worst rock whatever of all time.
Blink 182.
Background - the main genres of music that I listen to and will discuss here are classic rock and alternative rock
Bands that are in the same peer group as band I enjoyed, are enjoyed by many I know, but that I do not care for (some already mentioned in this thread):
Classic Rock
Steely Dan
Bruce Springsteen
ACDC
Grateful Dead
The Doors
CCR
Alternative Rock
Pearl Jam
Mumford and Sons
Green Day
Sonic Youth
Stone Temple Pilots
Alice in Chains
I think if hell exists, I'll have to listen to an endless playlist of these bands.

WOW... Steely Dan, Pearl Jam, Green Day, STP and Alice in Chains are all really good bands. Other than that I agree.
Fun.
Ugh. So annoying.
Lame popular songs -
"Free Bird"
"Born in the USA"
"Dream On"
"Centerfold"
"Hotel California"
"Jump"
"Hey, Soul Sister"

Haha, totally.

I'm surprised nobody has yet mentioned the most over-rated band of all time: the Red Hot Chili Peppers. Boy can I not stand them. Really, I think they are a pretty good band as far as chops go, but it's that awful Anthony Kiedis that I can't stand. When he tries to sing soulful like that Californication crap, I just can't take it. And then when people think RHCP are soooo cool, it makes it even worse. At least with other really crappy bands like Nickleback, everybody pretty much accepts that they suck.
Hey, look at us! We're jamming out! We don't have shirts! Woo-hoooo!
People love The Dave Matthews Band. Not me.
For one overrated song that I hate, it's a last place tie between Hotel California and Sultans of Swing.
