More of the hate on Meb is age based, I believe. I don't think Nike dropped him because of his race.
I'm still embarrassed that our best marathoner wears Sketchers.

Does Edna Kilagat/Deba know that they are so far up??? I don't even know if they know there are people ahead of them! Because they're sitting in the pack they might not know?
who takes third in the womens race?

How much have Mebs chances improved with the race conditions being awful? I think he has a much better shot
I agree. I think if it's not about time today, the door is open for a couple more guys. I wouldn't bet against Kiprotich but I just don't see him coming back for a win only 11 weeks after Worlds. If Meb wins he'll become a NYC Marathon legend.
Meb's got the lead in the men's race.first ile 5:27 uphill. 4:40 downhill according to Toni Reavis.
Women's race 5:31 7th mile ad they gain another 11 seconds. UP by 2:20.

19:59 for 4 miles. Toni Reavis just pointed out that when they ran 2:05 in 2011 they went through in 19:58.
I guarantee they're not running 2:05 today unless there is an act of god and the wind changes direction.
