I thought I'd be done at 25 but it's harder to move on than I imagined it would be.

As long as you keep on getting laid at these parties, you must be welcomed there somehow.

I would keep going until they kick me out.
Yeah, kind of. I put the limit at about 27.
Never mind that college parties are honestly some of the most moronic social events that I've ever attended. Everyone standing around staring at each other hoping to get laid but nothing ever happens. Most XC parties I went to involved drunkards screaming inane things and the cross guys hanging out on the 2nd floor completely devoid of any party interaction. If you can somehow get to a party that is actually fun and doesn't have clueless clowns who don't know how to bang a girl, then go for it.
Yeah, it's way too old for that.

Sounds like you went to the wrong parties, man. Sorry.

Hey Tom. Good luck in the half marathon this weekend.
Sincerely,
Your roommate on the other side of the wall.
The rule of thumb for relationships or hookups is nothing younger than your age divided by two, plus seven. So that's pretty much right out in your case. The only other draw beyond hookups is cheap alcohol when it comes to college parties, so if that's how you get cheap alcohol then by all means go for it. Otherwise I would avoid those parties.
Went back to finish my undergrad in my late 20s. Made some good friends and ended up in a four-year relationship with a girl a year younger than me in similar circumstances. We both found it occasionally awkward socializing with kids in their early 20s, though. I was surprised at what a gulf there seemed to be between us.
If you are 31 and going to college parties, meaning frat parties on campus, you realllly need to grow up. Dont you feel like a loser?

Completely agree. 31 and going to college parties definitely makes him/her a big loser. He/she is anywhere from 9-13 years OLDER than these kids. I remember going back to college only a year after graduating and realizing I had grown past such parties. Even a year later, everyone seemed very young.
I bet those kids hate seeing him show up.

No way, man. Don't listen to these losers. Ever notice how there are no fun parties after college? Or if you can find one, they are only on rare occasions and attended by a handful of people, hardly a party. Everyone after college is too busy working their 9-5s and popping out babies to overpopulate this nation even more. If you go to a post college party, people leave at like 10 pm, or worse, bring their screaming children along. You've only got one life man, you should live it up. Let everyone else who is too old for parties be miserable, if thats what they want to do.

The reason most college parties are in frat houses and such is because you are too young to go to an actual bar/club.
I agree that you can still party, but by age 31 you should be partying with people closer to your age.
Are you the guy that still went back and hung around his HS 3-4 yrs after graduating too?
I see points on both sides of the issue.
It is true that after college the really big parties, which some people myself included absolutely love and cherish.....are gone. People have the best times of their life and wanna hold on to that.
You can still have a good time by going to the bars/strip clubs, but as a person transitioned into the real world its hard to relive those awesome big party moments of college, so some guys go to college parties well into their 20s or in OPs case 31. I dont know how you go to these parties but its a little too old, I could see being 1 or 2 years out of college and visiting with friends but its time to move on.
But I see a responsible and mature solutions to this problem. If you live in a big city you can still go to nightclubs and such, so that is what OP should do instead. If you dont have any decent nightclubs around/live in the middle of nowhere you should reevaluate your life and figure out why you are living in such a boring dump.

Oh heeeeeelllllll yeah. Nothing worse than some old dude showing up to our parties.
1. It's extra competition for the booty simply because it's another hard leg.
2. Dude has a job and a nice car and can legally buy alcohol. That is just NOT what we need when we're trying to get the honeys.
3. Young women are impressionable and fail to see him as the freakin loser scammer that he is.
4. We act like we like him around because he does bring free booze.
5. Did I mention that we dont need yet another dude at the party, 'cause we don't!
Why not party with other young professionals? It's a heck of a lot more fun to drink with people who actually have the money to go out for quality drinks and food. While you're pounding Banker's Club and Beast, other ~30-year-olds are enjoying the fact that they can finally begin a conversation with a bartender with something other than "what are your specials?"
What about a girl in her late 20s? I'm 27 and considering going back to school.
I went to a very conservative, small college, and got married at age 20, and now the marriage has fallen apart and I feel like I was robbed of my youth. Never did anything "bad," never went to any parties, never had any wild nights or weekends, never hooked up, and basically never had any fun.
There are still things I would like to learn academically for sure, and I am considering going back to school both for that and to maybe get a little of the "college experience" I feel like I missed out on.
I am slim/fit, relatively attractive, blond, and could easily pass for at least 23, but probably not 18 or 19, unless the viewer had a couple drinks in him/her ;) I do realize this is a little lame, but would it be weird for me to try to hang out at college parties?
Not too old to go. Too old to behave like a college student.
