It would be nice to hear from Kip or Kip's friends on here because most of them couldn't answer the running trivia question that comes up on the original letsrun kip litton thread - you know, the one where the answer is haile G.

When we hear things like "Kip isn't talking", it is 100% false- he has always been open and forthright. We have grilled him and his family on many of the issues raised here on Lets Run.
...
For those that claim that the evidence that Kip has presented is not sufficient enough are failing to understand one thing- that is you CAN NOT prove a negative.
Let me sum up this absurdity- long after the issue was DEAD, you are STILL here in a forum that Kip DOESN'T even use, relentlessly bashing him over UNCONFIRMED claims from amateur races from YEARS ago, when you DON'T know him and have NEVER even questioned him!!
I re-read the New Yorker article and saw something remarkable. Anyone notice the following?
How often do people on this board or anywhere use "dashes" "-" in their sentences? The above post is full of them.
In the New Yorker article, there is email correspondence with the subject of this article.
From New Yorker:
Litton replied:
"No I didn’t see it. How long ago was it from? I actually don’t know who it is yet, but it certainly narrows it down—I’ll have to check around. I will not be able to disclose any names unless it is ok with them. I will say you have piqued my curiosity—but I will not make the mistake I made many months ago when I checked out LetsRun. Engaging in negative rhetorical sparring with anonymous strangers may be entertaining for some, but it is not where I choose to spend my time.
"
The use of dashes "-" in both the post and the email is quite odd.
Ok, on second thought, it looks just how the article writer abbreviates things.
"Fair is fair" in the original thread. Same use of "- ".

Anyways, everyone makes mistakes. If someone did cheat, fess up, ask for forgiveness, rebuild, and start racing again. You may end up better in the long run.

Definitely. If I were kip litton id admit my past and in the future train 60+MPW and try to race again. I bet he might be able to run under 3:30 if he did this and possibly break 19 or 20 for a 5k and win some age 50 awards
In addition, for those who don't know, he claimed a 56:55 finish at the 2009 Bobby Crim 10 miler. Later claiming that he may have taken a wrong turn when "allegedly" pressed by Scott H., if I recall correctly.
Keep in mind that he ran the same race according to their results on the same course in 1:09:23 in 2003, 1:09:08 in 2004, 1:10:26 in 2005, 1:06:41 in 2006, 1:07:32 in 2007 and 1:06:18 in 2008. Then, the following year he runs 9 minutes and 23 seconds faster, about 56 seconds per mile!
Now, after 6 years in a row of running the race on the same exact course, suddenly he doesn't get wiser as he gets older, he takes a wrong turn in his 7th time running the race. That makes a lot of sense.
He didn't become more and more familiar with the course, he got lost and confused. Sure.
Yeah, I ran the Free Press one year and ran right off the road and into the Detroit River. I just felt that it was the right way to go, until I was immersed in water. I guess I should have followed the runners in front of me, but I just didn't feel confident with their knowledge of the course:):):):):):):).
---------------------------------------------------------------
On July 11, 2010 he runs a 2:49 marathon, but is DQ'ed by the race director.
He decides to not start the Bobby Crim 10 miler on August 28th, 2010 possibly claiming injury.
Keep in mind that he's too injured to run a 10 miler near his home that he allegedly entered (paid for) and was coincidentally DQ'ed at the year before.
But...on Sept. 12, 2010...only 2 weeks later mind you, he's healed enough to run a marathon in New York and break 3 hours, winning $300 in the process as the first master runner.
----------------------------------------------------------------
It all makes sense now. What were we all thinking?
I've run over 700 races, never been DQ'd, to be DQ'd just once even for a technicality however innocent would be a crushing experience, to be DQ'd more than once over cheating is just incredible.
Any alleged "supporters" of his need to consider the following, there is loyalty then there is idiotic refusal to see the truth and you help nobody by prolonging this fantasy.
Not many back-of-the-packers do. No reason for an RD to do that.

Litton should have put his hands up from the start. That UK guy Rob Sloan admitted he cheated in a marathon then stupidly retracted his story. Now he cannot run any race without being ridiculed or pointed out as a cheater. Last year he even tried to run the Great North Run in disguise.

Combine that with the placement of all caps and the word absurdity...
There are two parts of this that keep nagging at me. First, all of this was about his kid and raising charity money. If you look at his results, he mainly rain in Michigan until the end of 2009 and then pretty much only ran everywhere else BUT Michigan. How much did that cost to travel around the country? I can't imagine the amount of money would be worth the donations so if that's not the case and it's so important race locally and donate what you would have spent.
The second part is this, and that when he started racing out of state is when the allegations started, Crim being end of 2009 and it's after Crim he decides to race every but near home. Almost like racing far away so no one would know him on the course. (I realize he had one or two before, but if you check athlinks it's obvious)
Yes.
Yes.
and...Yes.
I was being nice. There are more holes in his "stories" than I have ever seen any runner produce and for the record, I would love to interview him. An innocent person would want to sit and explain, he would get up and bolt.
Liar.
Liar.
and...still a Liar.
Getting lost on a relay leg of the Free Press? Only to him, no one else has ever been lost that I've ever heard of in decades, even for the marathon let alone a short leg of the relay.
If I were one of his teammates I'd spill the beans and tell what you know, and that would be that it's impossible for that to happen, totally impossible and "out" the guy.
But...that won't happen.
Lance didn't dope and Kip didn't cheat mmk?
Ok Jackey, we believe you.
Wasn't Rosie Ruiz arrested by police for what she did?
Why not the same for Dr Litton?
For those of you who are taking part in this lovely discussion, and are getting highly involved or passionate, here is an analogy of what this whole thing looks like;
An unknown person was pulled over by a police officer in 2007 for not coming to a complete stop at a stop sign. He was warned but not given a citation. You are all now participating in a 5000+ post discussion on whether or not he should have been given a ticket!!!!!!!
Either way, IT DOESN'T MATTER!! Its over!!
Wow! There are a lot of very looney people here
Including U for posting. U R comparing apples to dirt dipsh*t!
Of course it matters. This piece of shit licensed professional broke the runners honor code and refuses to confess to it. He thinks the general public is stupid. He ought to be arrested for petty theft larceny stealing award at Rochester marathon and possibly others, and for attempting it at Missoula.
With heightened security at marathon finishes now since the Boston bombing, hopefully if dr dip Shitton enters a race and cheats, a Boston cop might be suspicious hes a terrorist and will pin the shit on the ground and take him to the county jail. Guy is a douchenozzle times 1000
Including you. Don't post or respond. Go back to your parent's basement, please.
It's highly plausible the 0bama administration quietly has had Kip consulting on transparency issues and most recently advising on the 0bamacare rollout (due to his extensive website experience).
He's just too busy to race and $2k is chump change to anyone working in that arena.
