But where did Toby Tanser run 2:16?
Galen Rupp has ABSOLUTELY NO CHANCE of breaking 13:00.

Ah yes, one of the all time mysteries of running.
What would Dean K. do?
Mods, please delete the "Please Delete The 'please delete the [please delete the{Please delete the "what's your favorite LetsRun.Com inside joke"}]'" threads.
13.1 bumper sticker.
That thread has one of my favorites responses ever on letsrun.
"I heard Bekele has a 3.1 sticker on his mules ass."
Honor the gift, Ryan!
Pre is dead. Let's move on.
Yes, and Pre was also a sloppy drunk who deserved to die and has no place being thought of as any kind of example to anyone who is a real athlete with discipline and morals. Do you realize that he drank at least two beers and then got in his car and drove on a twisting hilly road? It would have been a disgrace if a person like this had lived. And what a travesty that some misguided sycophant cult followers still call him the greatest American distance runner in history when Jordan Hasay can beat his times now.
I like two of the "recurring" posts that come up - the Quaker Steak & Lube story and the "real man" thing (as long as the latter doesn't get overused it's funny). I have them, as well as a couple other great posts saved on my hard drive at home in case I ever want to post them or in case the mods decide to delete them.

You are obviously a complete loser.
Remember: "Just dismissed an athlete for back-sassing, get call from parent, situation explodes."
"The final incident actually appeared pretty innocent at first, as he brought a meal to indoor practice and began eating during our warm up and drills. I asked him if he was going to be able to complete the workout, with a meal in his stomach, and he took a sub and large soda and dumped it on the track, and then smeared it into the track with his foot."

Did you know it's possible to set the World Record in the marathon if you train with a weight vest?
Can't believe this hasn't come up:
I once bought a new car. Well, it wasn't new, but I just bought it, so it felt new. One door panel had been replaced, so my white car had a red door. It looked like a giant Tylenol.
As I pulled into my driveway, I saw a giant goat in the garage. I thought, "Good Grannies alive, what's that goat doing in here?" It was then that my wife stepped out of the front door and asked what was going on. I said, "There's a goat in the garage!" "A goat in the garage?" "Yeah, a goat in the garage."
Wouldn't you know it, our cat came out of the kitty door. He started going, "Meow, meow, meow!" All crazy like. Then the goat turned its attention to the cat food dish and started chowing down like a horse (well, more like a goat, really). "Meow!" Cat's still going crazy.
I thought about the situation, and decided then and there that if I ever want to PR in the marathon again, I've GOT to increase my mileage!
Is this inside joke update?
And a few questions that are going to make me look like a Johnny-come-lately (although I've been around here in various forms for almost exactly 10 years now, which may explain a lot about my stunted development):
1) Pirate, Cat, Gun girl--I've seen it linked many times over the years, but how was it introduced? (And why, for some reason, do I think it has something to do with Anita Siraki?)
2) Paulo knows where to find me--same deal as above (seen it posted, but don't know how it was introduced. Is it pulled from a slowtwitch rant, or something?)
3) When did Rexing ever go sub-14? I've never been able to find a result faster than 14:0x (which I'm sure he obviously ran in trainers, too).
Okay, I'm done outing myself as an ignorant newbie (for now). I don't actually expect any helpful answers to life's big questions I listed above, but I figured this would be as good an opportunity to ask 'em as I'll ever get.
Can somebody please explain Pirate Cat Gun Girl
you are taking a Chance.
