No, you just don't know what you're talking about. Where did you get that he would have run 7:1x? When has any table, calculator, or Ventolin ever suggested that? You just made that number up.
Lagat ran his 800 PR during the Olympic 1500. That should obviously tell you that he can run faster.
And yes Great would have run 25 something for 10k if a 3:58 was truly his max ability. To do otherwise st doesn't make sense. If you can run a 5k just a few seconds slower than your best mile time, then you can run a 10k just a few seconds slower than that which would lead to high 25 or 26 flat ability.
If you disagree with any of that then you don't understand how physiology works.
