I used to just think he was a turd and was happy knowing he was a turd. This continued charade makes be not only believe he intentionally hit a chick (potentially in the heat of the moment, but intentionally nonetheless), but that he deserves to be fired and ostracized by his friends and family.

Q. How did the last few miles play out?

A. The last few miles played out well until 24 miles. At 21.5 I caught Eric, and at 22, Matt Kiplagat was on the side of the road laying down getting stretched out by a volunteer. I continued to roll on and people said that the leader was dying. After seeing Matt on the ground, I thought maybe if I really started moving I could catch the leader. When I was coming through a water stop around mile 23, there was a woman running in the other direction (like mile 10?) and she was darting from one side of the road to the other taking pictures of herself. As I ran by, she stepped backwards right in front of me. I had to put my hand out to stop her from knocking me over and I basically punched her in the back. That took a lot of the wind out of my sails and I just tried to maintain to the finish without getting caught by Eric.

I just found this (wasn't reading the board in Sept/Oct) and so far I have only read the blog post the OP linked to and the replies, the first page here, and the first page on SlowTwitch.com. My guess at this point is that the thread turned in favor of the tri guy, or more accurately away from supporting the woman, because she clearly screwed up in a big way. This is not the same as a programmed physical assault in my view. I would not have done this but it would have been tempting and I am sure I would have been possible DQ's anyway because although I would not have struck her intentionally, I would have possibly called her the C-word very, very loudly.

So I'm thinking at the end of the thread LR folks were ripping triathletes in general and Blair and Amy in particular. Now to check.

The skank deserved it. If One is sprinting the last 100 meters of a 4 hour race the last thing anyone wants is a runner impeding them. It felt so good to do it too.. Reminded me of my marriage years.

Wait a second, how wide was the road and who was on the wrong side of the road? Also, how far away from this 'Alison' was the dude when she swerved into his way, cuz couldn't he have just ran slightly to the side and moved around her if there was more than 10 meters between them when Alison swerved in his way. He could have also just said "on your shoulder" and considering that she led a blind guy through part of the course according to the blog I bet she would have been nice enough to move out of his way. If this other guy is such a jerk, he could have just ran through her and toppled her over, then said "so sorry" as he ran by to make it look like an accident. If alison was swerving well off the part of the course that she was currently on to go over to her kids, sat there talking to them for a minute or more, ignored the guy when he told her to move or responded rudely, and the guy had absolutely no space to go around her then I understand intentionally running her over, or bumping into her enough to get her to move out of your way, but still punching someone is unacceptable. I have no respect for Alison because she is an oblivious hobby jogger who got in the way of a serious triathlete and I have no respect for that guy because he's a jerk who punched a stupid woman for the so-called "heinous crime" of being oblivious.
