Everybody better start getting their predicts in for this historic event. 70% chance of rain tonight and tomorrow, so the grass part of the course should be soft and wet, so keep that in mind sports fans.

Come down to Columbia, MO and race me on the MKT Trail right outside campus. Winner gets treated to Shakespeare's gooiest cheese pizza afterwards.
Bump.
My guess is the OP takes it by 14 seconds.
Are you guys racing? Post some pics and times please. Very cool if this goes off.
I bet on Aurora Resident: 1) He knows the place, and 2) I don't fall for the "I'm not very fast" routine on letsrun.
Have a great race, gentlemen!
race should be over now. Looking forward to update.

Race happened! Rough course, with lots of deep grass, some wind, and a steep hill. The winner was a mere SIX SECONDS in front of the loser. I'll let AR post results if he wants; I'll write a recap tomorrow which might be exciting.
We came, we raced, he conquered.
The final score:
OP- 11:32
Me- 11:38
We took pictures of our watches next to each other and him holding the jersey. But I'm a dunce and accidentally deleted them. I'm sure he reset his watch running his cool down. Thankfully, I did not.

Post-race commentary coming soon.
Nice race gents. I'll reiterate, this is one of the cooler things I've seen on LRC. I would argue on par with the 100 beers, 100 miles, 100 hours challenge.
I will allow the winner the honor of the race recap, but here are a few highlights:
Both runners led.
Both runners ran a positive split.
We chatted post-race and (crazy) found out we have the same first name.
Way better than the fartlek I would have done had he not showed.
Excellent job guys. LetsRace, give us some good details about age and such. Appreciate the diversion.
as per letsrace.com's comments about times, I think it'll be ~8:30 vs 11:00 or 11:00 vs ~17:00
I only wish I'd found this thread before just now. We could've had video...

No kidding. I live in Naperville/Wheaton
Nicely done. That's a really cool thing to happen thanks to letsrun.com!
Wow, crazy and coincidental that it came down so close. Someone should video it next time. This is one of the better days in LetsRun history.
Next time I randomly fly somewhere I will throw out the same challenge.
That is cool he posted, you accepted, and then followed up. Glad you got in a good workout.
Clever troll

How convenient that you accidentally deleted the photos! Smells like a pile of BS to me.
