very impressive, low 13 equivalent and without a fast pace to chase, plus very close to Soi, who's had a fine season and a strong kicker.

Manzano made both Olympic teams he had an opportunity to make. In 2008 he was a collegiate athlete who won an NCAA title for his school (his fourth), then made the Oly team, and the Oly semifinal. That's a long, successful season. Then add the 2012 silver medal.
In comparison, Webb, who never won an NCAA title and devoted himself entirely to a pro career, made one Oly team and was out in the first round.
Manzano will be 31 by the time of the next World's. From a historical perspective, he's already had a long career and doesn't have to do anything else for it be an admirable one.
I'm a big Manzano fan and I think he's had a phenomenal career. I'm glad to see him do well after he rolled me in an 800m in high school.
His qualifying for teams isn't what I was talking about. That's his history in US CHAMPIONSHIPS, which is as good as any middle distance runner we have in my opinion. However, of all the teams that he has made, he's only made, what, 2 finals? That's not stellar. Even with his credentials. He overachieved with the silver and he will always have that going for him, which is awesome, but he hasn't lit it up in WCs/OGs outside of that race.
Guy has a nice end to his season and he has to read this.

Wow, nice result for Infeld after not having a track season during the summer. The results don't list it as a PB, but I assume it must be, right?
Nice result? Here time is 35 seconds off the WR. Ben True ran 16 seconds of the WR. Nice result for True. Lackluster result for Emily.

Lackluster = 19 s PR for Emily!
GREAT races for both True and Infield! A 7:36 is a little bit shocking especially when the season is winding down. What a race for both runners.
3:31 for Cronje (NR) and 8:39 for Kuijken both were big moves up, I's say....
