Centro incurred a knee injury in Worlds. He was obviously not ready for Zurich. I fear that the appearance fees in these Diamond League races spur runners to run through injuries, hence the "surprising" bonks or appearance of packing it in.

Meh, that's one race. I could also say that people railed on Symmonds for going out to slow in the Olympic final (50.44) and the praised him for "his new tactics" in going out in 50.6 yesterday in Zurich.
Do they drug test the winners, or just throw the money at them? Tour de France tests it competitors --- so would
Weltklasse if they had any pride in what they do/
