I'm no expert on this stuff, that's for sure, but this doesn't make sense to me. Can you explain how a 2.0s difference @1500m translates into 19.4s difference @5000m...seems like it should be more like 7s, maybe 8s. The IAAF scoring tables would say the same. What am I missing?
iaaf tables are only a very rough guide ( how do you compare women's shot put to men's 800 ?! )
the calculator is a bit more specific
you do know paula radcliffe says she did a 4'01TT ( according to her book ) sometime before runing a 14'31 ( probably worth 14'25 if flat-out )
you can have very little differences in say 1500 & huge differences in 5k depending on whether you are a speed-based or endurance based runner
