That's actually quite offensive to those of us who work with the mentally challenged.
When Igy is drunk posting, his darker side comes out. We've seen it before. When he sobers up, he'll have those posts deleted and he'll blame Detector Dude.

It is bizarre to say the least that Detector Dude (Trews) is so infatuated with my persona. Too bad it is more a figment of his distorted imagination.

Right. With half of all Americans living in poverty or near poverty while 8 men have a larger combined net worth than the poorest 3.5 billion people on the planet things are just peachy.
Stop being a sucker.

agip,
That's a rewarding feeling. Very good race. Anytime you are in that range you can be proud of your effort.
How are you planning your well deserved rest phase?
I had to trim back my long run Saturday. I felt the increase in total training volume. Nevertheless, it was my highest overall training volume in several years.
Igy
good to hear that you have been able to get in more volume than in recent years - hope the setback is nothing serious.
Frankly I'm all talk on 'rest' periods. The main thing is no racing, or at least no 100% races...I'll probably take 3-4 days off with no running, then pick it up again at comfortable levels of easy running for a week, then maybe add one moderate workout per week.
Do that for a couple months and then start training for the fall.
I'm concerned that if I take it too easy... climbing out of the hole will be too difficult at my age.
agip,
Sounds like a good plan. Around the time I turned 60 the wife and I were very busy with aging parents and kids transitioning to independence. I was forced to scale back the running and it has been a struggle to get back on the horse.
I was just tired Saturday, dead legged. This morning I ran 2 sets of (5 x 300m @ interval/5k pace / 100m jog. I felt good the further I went. I make up the workouts for our group of seven masters runners. So I have some company on days I might have scaled back---pride factor you know.

The economy and the poverty level are not the same thing.
Just passing through.

Yeah right. Good thinking. Massive poverty is just fine under our system becuz the economy is doing well. You people deserve to get exploited by the criminal class that runs things.
Back up your poverty numbers or STFU.
this is real, after-inflation disposable income in the USA.
We are not a poverty stricken nation.
although this is not median of course, so rich folks skew the numbers.
The current poverty level is less than 15%. Even added in those that are "near poverty", you're not going to get to half the population.
Fake news.

You cannot use google?
I googled 1/2 of america is poor and and immediately got dozens of sources to confirm my assertion.
As noted earlier, people like you are suckers for the criminal class that runs things. Not sure why you are proud of that.
I can use Google and did. It told me you are full of shit.

Your understanding of those statistics is as bad as your alter ego's.

Yes, and Detector Dude has transferred his obsession with Real Igy to Fake Igy. Psyche Docs have scheduled an examination for Wednesday. The lead Doc is considering a frontal lobotomy for Detector.
