I'm up 65% this year. How about you chumps?

Agip.
Why should Jewish groups get 97% of all Homeland Security grant money? Even if it is "only" $10 million?
Hey kids, let's see how Klondike's prediction did.
He said at some point something like 'by the end of November...' and lo! here we are.
Dow: +8.9%
US Stocks (VTI): +11.3%
Global Stocks (VT): +10.8%
and just for fun, the Nasdaq Comp: +13.5%
that's three month's total return, including dividends.
So he walked away from an entire year's average return because he got scared.
how do you like those apples?

Actually I stated I bailed out in June with the Dow @ 15k. I never made any prediction about where it would be at the end if November.
Honesty is not Agip's long suit.
By the way, Agip, I am still waiting for your justification for why Jewish groups get 97% of Homeland Security grants.

And you stayed in in 2009 as the Dow went from mid 14k to 6,800 because you have balls?
Klondike: by god, you're right. You said December 12. I'll get back to you then, believe me. here's his three month window post - on page 17 if you want to look it up yourself.

Yes. Because politics has no impact on the market and should not play into our decisions.
Talk to me in three months. I am relatively confident that the "correction" will hit by then. Perhaps as soon as next week when the Fed makes its next announcement on 9/18 (I know, I know, we cannot talk about the ethnic/religious make-up of the Board of that august body).
If at year's end I have been proven mistaken, I will consider my next move.

Why not extend K5's prediction until March?
as for the NGO grants...first of all, we're talking bubkus here - $10 million. Spread across many orgs, that is basically meaningless. So this is a lame debate.
2) Do we know anything about the applicants for grants? For all we know, 90% of grant applications were from jewish groups. Maybe no one else wanted the money or knew it was available.
3) Something like 65% of religious based hate crimes are against jews.
http://www.dearbornfreepress.com/2012/01/27/hate-crimes-fbi-stats-on-muslims-jews-gays-hispanics/
So maybe they have reason to need some money to protect themselves.
4) Jewish orgs are, well, organized - I suspect the national jewish orgs let synagogues and smaller orgs know that money was available for security. And so they applied. What other group is the subject of so much hate crime and is somewhat organized on a national scale?
what is your explanation?

What a laundry list of rationalizations for why the richest, most politically powerful group in the nation should get nearly every single tax dollar that does to Homeland Security grants. Simply mind boggling.
1. Minimizing the importance of this fact by belittling the amount of money involved. Only $10 million (leaving our the multi billions of our tax dollars given annually to the "Jewish State" -- their words, not mine.
2. Stating we know nothing about the applications for the money and then postulating that Jewish groups made 90% of them. I mean, what can one say about that.
3. Actually believing that Jews are the most likely victims of hate crimes. How many Jews have been killed for being Jewish? I know of several Muslims and Sikhs who have met this fate. You do know that if I am assaulted in a "knock-out game" and badly hurt, it is not a hate crime. If a Jews is assaulted in the same manner and left largely unharmed, it is a hate crime. The point is that the 65% figure is based on nonsense.
4. I guess nobody else knows how to apply for these grants. Only Jews are smart enuff.
The obvious explanation is that Jewish groups have tremendous influence and control over the US congress, Judiciary, Central Bank, mainstream media, and more. And they use this power to line their own pockets, all the while crying victim and pointing to things like the 65% stat you point to.
"If at year's end I have been proven mistaken, I will consider my next move."
This is the statement that you interpret to mean that what?
The fact that I will re-think my position at year's end means that if I am down by the end of November I have somehow been proven wrong once and for all, game over?
No wonder you are in investment advising. You are full of sh&t and incapable of honesty or logical thought
1.7% of the population -- a very rich 1.7% I might add -- gets 97% of the Homeland Security grant dollars.
I guess because they are so much more important and valuable that anyone else.
Which is certainly how they feel about it.
We other 98.3% may get around to feeling differently. In fact, I would say we would have been there long ago if not kept so in the dark about what is really going on.
you said on 9/12 in that post 'talk to me in three months.' that will be in 9 trading days. Maybe we will crash 1,000 Dow points in 9 days. remember you tried to deny you put a date on anything.
you know, I might just start ignoring you, since you are lame.
You claim you never said jews run the country, then I show that you did just that.
You claim you never put a date on your prediction, then I show you did just that.
I will no longer respond to you, because you are not worthy. You don't argue with anything worthwhile - you just deflect.
I'll still post, but I will not respond to you. Until I choose to.
I just want to point out one great fact about the abysmal quality of the OP's bearish prediction: soon after her prediction... the longest rally in 10 years began:
"U.S. stocks rose for an eighth straight week, driving the Standard & Poor’s 500 Index to the longest rally in almost a decade, as data on employment and consumer sentiment boosted confidence in economic growth."
Trying to time the market is a fool's game.

Buying and holding as the market collapsed in 2000-2002 and again in 2008-2009 was pure genius

Does that mean that you used to respond when you did NOT choose to respond? Or does that mean nothing at all?

I wouldn't call that genius.

Agreed. The average investor will have below average returns because they tend to panic sell, just like the fellow who started this thread. But this guy 'saw', or 'felt', things that just weren't there. Too bad for him, but someone is making a tidy profit off of his foolishness.

Too bad I missed out on the 2000-2002 and 200809 collapses because I foolishly panic sold in advance.
I missed out on those tidy losses everyone who stayed in enjoyed
