I am getting slammed from all quarters this morning, unless USD cash is considered an asset, in which case I’m good.
I have never before had this bad a start to an investing block. Lol I should have sold my PYPL the instant Goldman recommended it.
I think I will hang on to what I have, even the miners—which could have a way to fall yet if dxy continues to climb. I bought it as a currency hedge anyway. The other stuff I will try to forget about for a year or more.
Only now do I get the feel of buy-and-hold: when you are in the red and can afford to hold on until you’re not, however long that takes. I believe in every stock I bought, even TSLA (in which gov has its sticky fingers), although it was the only thing I consider purely speculative.
The fund I bought in a retirement account, trbcx, has taken a dump ever since I bought it. Talk about timing ??
At this point I am only even on the year, with a miniscule gain—at least until the end of trading today?.
the curse of September.
add all the Septembers together for 100+ years and you get a materially negative return.
Markets whip-sawing up and down with AAPL...
If I was looking at any stocks, it would be energy.
I am getting destroyed today. On a percentage basis, my worst day ever, by far, in equities. Overall I took a much bigger hit when RE crashed in 09, as many of us did. I realized no losses then on any single asset, I hope I will be able to ride this out, as well.
May your equities be doing better than mine. If I didn’t have a workout coming up, I would be tempted to binge drink the last market hour.????
ack, sorry maser. This too will pass.
SPX down 10% from its highs now. So far just a normal everyday correction.
Thanks. Yes I know, but I have never before let myself be corrected. This feels terrible. Yes, I know, what a wimp.
Going swimming now because like I quoted to Igy, in the water no-one can see you cry.
Terrible Wall Street day.. Look for our Unstable Genius to tweet that it is Biden's fault for not having a complete Covid and Economic recovery plan !!! Check his next rally !

You may want to consider the wisdom of investing in a auto company that was profitable last quarter by selling carbon credits. By the way, the stock was down another $12 in aftermarket.

Damn, you went there again. You are one creepy guy.
I bought little of TSLA this morning to add more to my position. I'm going to start adding more and more TSLA on down days and hopefully there will be plenty of down days to come.
I think the announcement of $25K fully autonomous cars will be a game changer.
Model 3 is in price range competing with entry-level luxury cars.
$25K Teslas will be competing with Camrys.
That will bring massive shift and will have no trouble meeting growth projection. I'll continue to be long on Tesla!

An auto company that has returned over 100% on my investment in it this past few months.
And that is bouncing back nicely as I type this
In at most, 5 years, but more likely 3 years, TSLA will be the most valuable company in the world. Make sure to bookmark this.
Just like Apple is today where majority of people own some type of Apple products, it will be like that with Tesla in 5 years. EV market will be thriving and Tesla will be dominating it. Tesla will be making a lot money from their softwares and services like Apple.
Tesla will be thriving in other products like solar panels and battery packs for homes and businesses as well. They'll also have other products and services that I have no idea, but company like Tesla where they have a lot of smart people that's willing to take risks, they'll have some genius products by then as well.
