to be fair, historically, once the unemployment rate starts moving back up, a recession is inevitable and will hit within a year or so.
The weird thing about things right now is the very low real interest rate. So hard to see a recession happen when we have negative or zero real interest rates. Not sure if a recession under these circumstances would be unprecedented, but it would certainly be rare.
usually when the fed rate peaks, it is far above the inflation rate. Now it's right on it.
