Savinova has no excuse this time as she had her eye on her, and only her the entire race: she wasn't racing anyone else. Also, nice to finally see the event not being overshadowed by Montano's failings and talk of how she'd have won if she'd run differently. If you ask me, her tactics in Moscow were the only chance for a woman of her musculature.
Yup.
Someone, ( I think Savinova but I could be wrong) cut Sum very badly and made her lose concentration and momentum with about 250 meters to go.
This is perhaps what made that race that interesting. May be it was necessary.
As we speak...read....write, Jepkoech is way better than anyone else and that includes Savinova. Perhaps the only person who could beat her is Niyonsaba.
?..and yes, Montaño ran in a straight line and ended up fourth.
If sum could just work on her speed, her last hundred, she'd be very hard to beat.
Savinova now knows that she has a Kenyan to deal with.
Sum is the woMAN!
