Wilson seems pretty easy-going. At the young age of 19, she might not have felt comfortable making an issue of the foul.

there is not much tape that is POV from an Inspectors typical position----Based only what I can see from the various views on the tape--
If I were the Inspector assigned that area I doubt I would call a foul.

Poistogova was coming in behind her compatriot and was in a bad position. That doesn't give her the right to shove someone out of the way in the next lane in order to create an opening. Clear foul in front of the finish line officials, but they were probably reluctant to disqualify a Russian in that venue.
Oh but you wouldn't disqualify Montano?
There's really nothing in this video worthy of a dq. Don't know what you guys are watching. Needs a finish line camera.
I genuinely can't tell if it's a blatant foul or a position error gone wrong. Either it's what everyone else in this thread thinks or:
Rusky wanted to move out, but Wilson was in her space. She tried to gently push through, but Wilson (rightly) wouldn't give her the space. Rusky loses balance and upper body starts flailing.
That's what it looked like to me on the first view. Either way Rusky was in the wrong for impeding, but I'm not entirely sure she was purposefully hitting Wilson.

Don't know what vido you were looking at, but it was clear that she was purposefully hitting here with an elbow, should be dq.
Watch later in the vid, around 2:35,
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=EatNPB6sVeMObviously you have never met Ajee, she is not the make scene type. You would probably nver hear her speak if she wasn't forced to do interviews.
it looks a lot worse from above, maybe why it wasn't spotted, i don't know. poistogova should be DQ.
looking at that, i'm amazed montano got across the line, she was really lucky in a way when she fell/dived - had it been a few steps back she wouldn't have made it and would have been lying there not over the finish line.
Not what I'm seeing. As Montano slowed and drifted over, the Russian wanted to move into the next lane and threw hard elbows into the American. Those were not off-balance inadvertent flailings. She actually HAD balance to wind up and throw the elbows directly at the American.
I don't recall such a blatant, clearly intentional foul that wasn't for a podium position. What a loser.
Rubbin's racin
When the first elbow didn't work, two more followed. And not a case of "no harm, no foul." The Russian was trapped behind Montano and Ajee would have moved up a spot.

not for no reason. she was looking for a path around Montano and Martinez had just taken away the inside. She started drifting wide about 30-40m out while Wilson was still behind her, and far enough out to still be thinking medal. Yielding to Wilson would have meant 6th place for sure, so risking a DQ was worth it.
most blatant elbows I have ever seen in a race..wow..not only that she was running all over the place, glad she didn't elbow Brenda first
sort of funny that it took us all this long to see this one!
BTW - Wilson did nothing wrong
should be DQed...yes!
She actually does mention it briefly in the interview, she says "a girl came over and kinda (makes elbow motion) and it threw me off" Didn't really spend much time on it or cry about it or anything.
Montano who went sideways across three lanes was the cause of the incident.
Poistogova was just trying to get to the finish and not be body blocked by Montano.
It would have been better to cut to the inside, but it's not always easy to see such things at the spur of the moment.
I think that she says it best in that interview. It didn't cost her a medal, but it might have cost her .15+ seconds.
J.R. J.R....you are funny, Poistogova tried to start a fight out there, lucky for her Wilson took the higher ground!
There isn't a man here if that would of happened to would of let it go....those were fighting elbows, head shots, stomach shots, trying to hurt someone shots, those were vicious attempt to cause pain! No accident, it was done with malice...hope you never get picked for jury duty!

Poistogova was being forced out by Montano who was sprawling and cutting across in front of her in lane two. Wilson tried to give her some room but it wasn't enough as Montano continued swerving out to lane three.
The incident was totally the fault of Montano. Poistogova was just trying to get through to the finish, and Wilson was totally in the clear. It's a shame that happened, but the cause was Montano, with her crazy antics.
This is one of the dumbest posts I've seen here in a while.
I'm pretty sure having to go wide didn't force her to punch anyone. Twice.
Come ON.

Are you really this dense? Have you ever raced on a track?
Montano didn't DELIBERATELY HIT ANOTHER ATHLETE. TWICE.
Get it?
JR, while Montano did move from lane 1 to lane 2 and at the end, stepped into lane 3 (perhaps an attempt to draft behind Sum), it is clear that Montano did not see Poistogova or Wilson while she made the lane change, and therefore never intended to impede anyone.
Looking at the video, Poistogova was in lane 1 on the last turn, then went to lane 2, then muscled her way into and across the entire lane 3 (including the lane 4 line) without a Russian Bear, but with a Russian elbow where Ajee Wilson ran ~90 meters until Poistogova forced Wilson into lane 4.
I believe that Poistogova should be DISQUALIFIED.
