Renny Waldron got Jenkins to sub-4 last year, how much faster can he get now with the resources available to the duo at UCONN?!?!?!?
The resources of UCONN??
What the hell does that mean? How many resources do 17 year old kids in Kenya need to run 13:05? Not many.
Northeastern got him to plenty of big meets. I'm as big of a Jenkins fan as anyone but Jenkins had a huge year last year so there are decent odds that he actually runs slower this year than last year.
Why? People forget when you have a great year, everything goes perfectly. It's hard to replicate that. He is young though and relatively new to the sport so let's hope he keeps it rolling.
That being said, I'm happy for Renny. I met him and he told me much of his training of Jenkins is inspired by John Kellogg so it was a huge thrill to hear that. We started the website to help spread JK's gospel and now look how much faster Americans are now thanks to the Internet.
Everyone pretty much knows how to train now instead of only seeing run less articles come out every month in Runnersworld in the 1980s-90s.
If you think it doesn't have a lot to do with the INternet you are foolish.
