She's not blaming her hamstring, that is the real reason she is injured. No immediate statement came out because it was 4 AM in the morning. This wasn't stop-everything-your-doing breaking news. It was sports news just like the rest of sports news and when 8 AM rolled around in Moscow she got the news out there. We should support Moser and now give Bowman just as much support in her efforts too.

Trust problem here comes from individuals too eager to jump to conclusions. It is not Moser's fault, NOP's fault, or Team USA's fault. This little thing called night time got in the way.
Not certain, but Rowbury is not the alternate for the 1500 after the pieces fell out, so Brown has the slot not Rowbury. This is going from memory, and it is very late (or very early). Hopefully things will be clear by the end of the day on all of the reasons.

Dear Chris Chavez,
Please do your research before you write articles
You report that Brown gets to be on the team because she has the A standard and imply that Rowbury does not.
Rowbury ran 4:01 in Monaco on July 19. The deadline for getting the standard was July 20.

So in this scenario, NOP has an incredibly sophisticated doping system, that, accusers would say, has allowed them to pass tests for years. But suddenly they're stymied by a surprise test?
You can't have it both ways--they can't have this elaborate system but also not be prepared for on-demand samples, one of the basic underpinnings of current anti-doping efforts.
So which is it?
Sure you can have it both ways. I am sure that even with most sophisticated program there are always risks. I agree it is far fetched to be suddenly stymied, but it isn't far fetched that something with the program could go wrong and a positive test result occurs.
Official statements, websites, blogs, twitter, etc...I have not heard anything about drugs. From what I understand, TM has been tested 3xs in the last 60 days, which includes the official WADA pre competition test and she has not missed a test or dodged a test...where heck did the drugs issue come from?
MAN! Have I been out of the loop in the past 36 hours!
You know, as happy as I am to see Brown returning to the top of the heap and getting a shot at Worlds, it's too bad Shannon Rowbury can't get into this, as she ran 4:01 at Monaco for 4th and has a proven track record of running well in championship 1500s (just not USAs this year). She also won that London 3000 with a nasty kick that made her look like she was toying with the field.
Also, it's a shame Gabe Anderson didn't finish higher at USAs, because she has been on a tear late this summer. She also ran 4:01 at Monaco for 5th, and was 2nd in that London 3000 to Rowbury.
Am I living in the twilight zone? The Boston Marathon weather was terrible!
