What exactly is the process? Does the IAAF head find out about it from the newspapers?

This thread is hilarious. Bolt gets a positive test, it gets handed to the president of the IAAF, and he decides what to do with it. This is totally how testing works.[/quote]
I guess that Diack answered my question. I would have preferred that he answer directly on the LetsRun message board however.
I'm sure that he is being totally honest :)
I can just imagine the alternate answer. "well, let me think... I'm not sure what I would do. It would be very damaging for the sport, you know..."
This is too funny...

I love it when Letsrun is 2 years ahead of the curve
You are showing a lot of wisdom here. I ranted and raved on cycling boards about how fishy the Lance story was years before it became painfully obvious. I was routinely excoriated for being "anti-American" and a "cancer lover". Rather ironic in respect !
Hell.
The NFL would be out of business tomorrow if it received the type of scrutiny track does. And not just on the ped use that goes on. Pain killer abuse, speed, steroids, alcohol, coke, etc. And then there is the gambling with these partnerships with Draft Kings and Fan Duel.
This is a very good question. Exposing Bolt would cause huge damage to the sport.
The consequences for Bolt were he found to have taken illegal substances are far greater to that of any other athlete, that’s why I wonder if he would be crazy enough to even think about it.
First of all, he would never dare show his face in his beloved Jamaica anymore and Jamaica being a fairly violet country, I think his family would have to move also.
Where would he go to?
In what country would he still be welcomed?
Unlike Gatlin and others who carry on as normal, he would be a despised resident in all the countries one would wish to settle in and of course, he would never compete again.
No, I can’t think he’d take such a foolish risk.

I brought back this 2013 thread because of this 2013 statement from Diack (dated a few days after we started the thread). We questioned his honesty then...

Do you really think Jamaicans really care if he doped? EVERY person in their National program is juiced to high heavan
Jamaican fans would just justify that he was sabotaged or that the Americans are worse. Bolt would continue to party like it was 1999 (or 2008 in his case I guess)
