No. He was a junior last year. The guy is dangerous.

I concur. Jacob Thomson of Louisville, Ky is going to be a senior. I should imagine he will break a lot of course records this year and run great FL nationals. Can't believe people have overlooked this guy.. He is the real deal. Heard he's already been offered full rides from Oregon. Even was offered a pro contract post high school (which he rejected) with the Oregon Project. HE'S A FAST BOY.
Blake Haney for the W
But really this years race is wide open. First time that no Africans or Lukas's this year. I feel like the whole field as a whole is down talent wise. This year a guy like Mcgorty would run away with it. Should be a good one to watch.

How is it wide open? Do some homework on Jacob Thomson's last cross country season.
I am sure he will do very well at college this fall:

That has to be fake
Stephen Mugeche (Blue Springs) and Cole Rockhold (Truman) are both strong kansas city runners that have huge potential and may take a leap this coming year. Mugeche is an extremely talented incoming junior that gone craycray in most of his races. 15:20 to 15:40 average.
Rockhold had a good season, but ran out of gas for post-season races, which is probably why he did not do footlocker or nike.
Another two that come to mind are Austin Tamagno and that 8:59 frosh.
Elijah Armstrong is not as good as some on the board seem to think. He already runs 80 mpw, has not PRed in the 3200 for two years, and has made little-to-no improvement in his other races. He'll be top-20 maybe but nothing special. If you want to see a junior dominate, check out Grant Fisher or Conner Mantz. Mantz is improving and rarely runs 50 mile weeks, has a 9:04 and 15:03 xc to his name, and finished well at footlocker last year. Fisher came on strong at the end of this season and ran a 4:08 equivalent at World Youths. My money is still on Haney though, kid's a beast.
Does Elijah Armstrong really run that much?? Who are some other super high mileage guys around the country?
Don't know why everyone always overlooks Ohio. Nobody had heard of Sam Wharton before he won NXN last year or Sam Prakel before he was 3rd at Junior Nats in the 1500. Nicholas Elswick, 2012 footlocker finalist who ran 14:28 in the 5k at NBN will win footlocker in 2013. Book it.
Addison DeHaven out of SD representing the MW will be a top 5 finisher. I will come back to this thread in 3.5 months and show you fools wrong. This kid is as talented as talented can get. Only sophomore to qualify 2 years back, got banged up last year and barely missed out. Look for a top 5 from Mr. DeHaven.

Kyle Levermore (8:55 guy) regularly runs over 100 mile weeks.
Louis Colson (Thomas Edison Class of 2014):
Freshman Year:
800 - 2:00
1600 - 4:36 (Indoor)/4:25 (Outdoor)
3200 - 10:01 (Indoor)/9:22 (Outdoor)
5000 - 16:59
Sophomore Year:
800 - 1:57
1600 - 4:19 (Indoor)/4:18 (Outdoor)
3200 - 9:24 (Indoor)/9:22 (Outdoor)
5000 - 16:09
Junior Year:
800 - 1:55, but he was clocked at 1:50/1:51 split @ NBIN 4x8.
1600 - 4:21 (Indoor)/4:14 (Outdoor)
3200 - 9:06 (Indoor)/9:12 (Outdoor)
5000 - 15:28
Beat Sean McGorty in the 2012-2013 VHSL Indoor State Championships 3200. He's got a lot of talent, strong running and a steady level of improvement. I don't think he's gonna win FLN, but I definitely see him representing the South out in San Diego.
Nick Causey (Osbourn Park Class of 2014):
Freshman: Did not run.
Sophomore:
800 - N/A
1600 - 4:38 (Indoor)/ 4:27 (Outdoor)
3200 - 10:17 (Indoor)/10:03 (Outdoor)
5000 - 16:43
Junior:
800 - 1:53
1600 - 4:27 (Indoor)/4:14 (Outdoor)
3200 - 9:53 (Indoor)/9:42 (Outdoor)
5000 - 15:51
I know right off the bat, this kid's times don't look very impressive but considering he's only been running for two years, he's puttin' down some solid times and quick improvement. He's an incredible racer and I see him dropping a lot of time this year. To me, he's the definition of a sleeper and I see him getting All-American at FLN. Keep an eye on him, ladies and gents.
Honorable Mention: Noah Combs (Blacksburg Class of 2015), Matthew Novak (Deep Run Class of 2015) Look for both of these two to be inside the Top 20 at FL South this year and a lot of growth. Both of them have potential to pull of a big XC season and slip inside the Top 10 depending on the depth of the South this year. If not, look for them to make their big break next year. Both have shown very strong times as only Sophomores.
Wow! Kyle Levermore really running 100 mile weeks? That's insane.
I'd definitely go with Obsa Ali out of Richfield, MN. Ran 4:42/2:16/9:56 as a freshman in track without running being his main sport (he played soccer) then comes out sophomore year in track and runs 4:19/9:18. He then decides to do cross country and soccer his junior year in the fall and runs 15:25, places second in state, 3rd at Nike Heartland Regionals and 10th at NXN nationals all during his first year of XC. Then comes junior year of track and runs 4:10 and 8:57 and breaks the 9 min barrier and the state record and later gets invited the the Nike elite Camp. He says he'll be doing both NXN and Footlocker. I see him in the top 5 at footlocker. This guy is really talented.

Is Elijah Armstrong roided out.. Or..?
Armstrong used to be a successful wrestler. I'm sure he has muscles he doesn't need. The kid's good. People keep talking about Elswick, but Armstrong was only a second behind him with a ton of extra muscle! How many sophomores have broken 14:30?
Un-named Kenyan Junior who looks 26.
RIP: D3 All-American Frank Csorba - who ran 13:56 in March - dead
RENATO can you talk about the preparation of Emile Cairess 2:06
Running for Bowerman Track Club used to be cool now its embarrassing
Hats off to my dad. He just ran a 1:42 Half Marathon and turns 75 in 2 months!
Great interview with Steve Cram - says Jakob has no chance of WRs this year
Rest in Peace Adrian Lehmann - 2:11 Swiss marathoner. Dies of heart attack.
