Watch out for LOUIS COLSON (VA). After beating Mcgorty at states indoors in the 2-mile, he had a good outdoor season (4:14, 1:55) and should have a shot at a top 10 spot at nationals. He's made crazy improvement since last year's cross season.

I would have to say the West looks like it has the strongest returning class and the Midwest could really struggle this year.
The Midwest never struggles.

Top 10 returners from footlocker south (to get the conversation moving):
1. Aaron Templeton - 14:54
2. Quintin McKinnish - 15:00
3. Brent Demarest - 15:06
4. Patrick Gregory - 15:17
5. Ian Milder - 15:18
6. Tyler Bennett - 15:22
7. Wyatt Maxey - 15:24
8. Chase Geary - 15:25
9. Daniel Navarro - 15:26
10. Gabriel Haughey - 15:27
I know that's just returners but..
Tony Morales and Zack Langston should be added to that list. They didn't run it last year. Tony got sick the night before footlocker, Zack qualified for NXN individually. I had the chance to run with them every in practice and they are some of the top xc guys in the southeast. Brent will be back to and for sure a 14:45 guy or faster.
Gabe Haughey went 15:01 on the track back in March too.
but hey, I am a little biased haha
You are crazy if you think any of those guys has a chance. It will be an unheard of Kenyan, that will come to the USA and win Footlocker. He might be 17, 18, or 24, no one will know and no one will be allowed to question it or be called a racist.
Quintin McKinnish missed time this track season due to a break up with the girl he believed to be "the one."
He will use her as his motivation to be extremely successful.

While this is untrue, he is in fact a d-bag as you implied. McKinnish had a stress fracture.

South
3 - Aaron Templeton (TN) 9:04
7 - Quintin McKinnish (TN) No outdoor times on Milesplit; 1:58 indoor
10 - Brent Demarest (SC) 9:15/4:17c
16 - Patrick Gregory (KY) 9:10/4:13c
17 - Ian Milder (NC) 9:13/4:17
There were no athletes from the South that made noise on the track this spring. I think the South could be in trouble this fall if track times mean much.
======================
The important thing is that there are a lot of athletes running sub 9:20 that are returning. If we assume they get solid training and no injuries, it is of course possible to see them dip under 9:00 (of course this isn't always the case).
For instance: Robert Ammons (TX) from Strake Jesuit has 4:14/9:03 PRs from this past spring.
Frank Lara, also from Strake Jesuit ran 4:16/9:15 this past spring.
Austen Dalquist who will also be a SR has 4:10/9:11 PRs from this spring.
Connor Hendrickson (from Southlake Carroll) will also be a SR and has run 4:17/9:10.
etc... can't see the full PRs list of all athletes by rankings (and I don't feel like looking through every good team individually) because I don't have access on the website (txrunning.com).

Track 5ks hardly mean anything in the world of cross country. It's one thing if a guy runs 14:40 or faster on the track, but a 15:01 on the track is not that impressive when we are talking about guys running 15:00 on a xc course.
I know that almost anything can happen, but 9:20 isn't what it used to be.
Among guys returning next year, on mile split alone there are 148 guys that have already run under 9:20 and 51 guys that have run under 9:10. There may be a number of guys from the South that rise up this fall and do really well, but they will be surprises.
Templeton ran 8:58 indoors in 2013.
He finished 7th at FLN the fall after he ran 9:20-something outdoors. He's a much better xc runner than he is a track runner.
Sorry: 8:59.21

what's all this talk about Templeton? He's good, but not that good. He'll be top 5, but the real talents are haney, hardey, ect...
I don't think there are any NJ guys that could challenge for the win, but expect there to be a lot of NJ representation. Last year at the NJ MOCs, the entire top 7 were all juniors.
The talk surrounding fall's CC won't be about boys.
The rumor is Mary will run NXN. She will get all the attention with BAxter and Rohrer maybe going to FL to get away from her, who knows?

In general, we do talk about the highest returners.
What about Elijah Armstrong(JR-Idaho)? He looked good at NBON with a 14:29 5k.
Lol are you okay? Templeton is the top returner and was SEVENTH last year. He's the real deal and a true cross country runner. I didn't see Haney or Hardy doing the things Templeton did last year... And what is it I remember about Hardy? The bozo got kicked off his team for alcohol consumption? What a moron. He must have been caught doing some really stupid stuff for it to be a big enough deal to get removed from his team.

He and Connor Mantz had incredibly impressive sophomore years and will be at the front of the junior class this year, which will be nipping at the heals of the seniors. Both are huge talents and fearless competitors.
someone in the South Region is going to run a sub 4 last mile and he dares anyone to go with him
We all know O'toole is the real sleeper threat. Had a monster track season, broke 3:50 in the 1500m (thats ~4:07 full mile) and 9:02 at arcadia
