Why did he waste his time going that far to run that slowly? He should have run that as a prelude to the Hasay qualifier "race".

There are as many or more Alan Webb threads than other threads combined from this meet. That is the point.
Re: the Huesdon meet. There are as many or more Alan Webb threads (posts) than other threads (posts) combined. That is rather absurd.
Guys/gals, talent doesn't just go away. He'll be back......
He won't be back. Honestly, I don't understand why this message board devotes so much attention to him. Talk about people who are getting it done.
But the brojo's told me talent doesn't go away!!?

what kind of bath salts are you taking, brah? webb is done; finsished; washed up.
brah, he sucks in the 1500. he sucks in the 5k. what makes you think he would do ANY better at ANY other event he tries?
sorry, brah, but your idol should be lucky he even is a professional runner at this point in his career.
You can not tell the future. What gives you the cocky sense that you know better. Also when things aren't quite to the level you would think you might be would you give up on yourself?
Webb is back, baby!! Still think he can go under 13:00 by the end of the summer
Does anyone know where the "B" race 5k might be?... If it exists.

Avoid trying to look up any Alan Webb results from the last 3 years. Not sure if you'll be able to handle it.
Correction- 6 years

Because he's run the best US distance time in the last 10-20 years. It's better than all of the other distance times by US athletes (minus Lagat's 3:29. Did he do that while a US citizen?).
He looks 24. probably turning 25. Here is his facebook page. He was born in 1989. How could a 16 year old run 5k in such a time!!!

and yet, next week, and then again next month, there will be another optimistic Webb poster starting yet another optimistically delusional thread about some chance at redemption at some obscure Euro meet, with multiple explanation points for emphasis..
Alan Webb is a 13:40 5K guy. What 13:40 quality runner in the history of athletics has ever generated a couple of dozen threads about their season?

Perhaps he's lucky, but he's also bringing down $1Mil/year. Not bad in my book.

I don't see the problem. Rupp ran 13:37 as a 17 or 18 yr old with no running before highschool. Seems likely that a more focused runner could do it a year or two earlier. No?

precisely, brah.
webb is lucky the people at nike are ignorant, brah. the only reason he is still running professionally AND making mad bank, even though he is currently running DII slash DIII type times, is because of his accomplishments OVER 6 years ago.
OR...
maybe webb signed a HUGE, super long contract, brah?!?! maybe nike is praying webb hurts himself so they don't have to pay him anymore.
some piece of Webb is still in the top category
