Does anyone remember how difficult it is to set a PR in the 1500 meters by as much as people were doing in this race? Ii is almost impossible. To go from 4:10.5+ to 4:06.67 that quickly just doesn't sound correct. Was something wrong with this track length? I find it very hard to believe that somebody can improve on a PR by that much after 2 weeks in Europe. Especially after a full season of college track meets. If people will just remember how hard it was to set a PR in a 1500 meter race by even one tenth of a second then these 3-4 second 1500 meter PRs will look very strange.
Her PR was 4:09 low before this race, FWIW.[/quote]
You are a Doubting Thomas and Nay Sayer. The collegiate season offers nothing but slow tactical races. This was the first opportunity for Cory to go out fast and race the clock. She was at a sub 4 minute pace with 1 lap to go. Her performance was gutsy and courageous. Congrats to Cory for getting the Standard.
