to follow up on my post, the report had Fisher in 7th place into the backstretch, so presumably he closed faster than 42, which puts his speed closer to what is necessary. However, the Kenyans likely were not close to their ability (3:38 already) and Fisher will have to be near the front with 300 to go in the final.
