At the US trials there was a lot of talk about the sprinters doping.
If the women winning the 4x100 in a world record time of 40.62 breaking the 32 year old 41.60 done by the heavily drugged East Germans of 1980 doesn't raise your suspicion, don't let me disturb your sleep.
No debate with you about suspicion.
But, to be fair, all of the East German swimming and track records have been surpassed, not just the 4x1. Breaking a record, even a suspicion record does not mean a person(s) must be doping to. Also, the Americans and the Jamaicans could have challenged that record on several occasions, they had the speed, got near perfect legs and hand-offs from each athlete. In the London 4x1, SAFP handed off in 3rd, when she should handed off in 1st and their anchor leg is a couple of year past her prime. Change either one of those things and the Jamaicans probably would have broken the record as well. Don't get me wrong, the E German 4x1 record was strong, but 4 sub-10.9 sprinters at the top of their game with good hand-offs was bound to break that record and you didn't need drugs to do it.
