Rupp is an example Al's ability to develop a 5/10 runner. Farah is not.

Would it be fair to say that Salazar helped Farah properly put together the existing pieces?
Sure. Farah was a MASSIVE favorite a year before games, before he came to NOP, so nobody can say Al got him to the top. But of course credit should be given for the fine-tuning that may have sealed the wins.
But Farah was far, far, far closer to already completing the puzzle than Erdmann and Hasay, who have come to Al very young and hopefully early in their careers.
Can he DEVELOP them? That is yet to be seen. Rupp and Goucher developed under Al. Anyone else? Ritz hasn't PRed in the 10,000 for years and his marathon progress has been underwhelming. We will see what happens with Levins at WC.
For Al, Rupp is a coaching success, and Farah is a recruiting success.
