Mo Farah wins the 5000m live from Gateshead Stadiumhttp://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PUfmPkuYKB0
Not even remotely interesting. 14:10? And these guys whine that they don't make money? Get a clue

Is there a video? He must have gaped the field by 50 meters in the last lap.
It's on the BBC website, I'm not sure if none Brits can see it though:

You're having a laugh! Good one!
There should be an icon for Joke of the day!
eh ???
komen was probably in 3'30 shape when he ran 7'20 ( only 3'34pb at the time )
what shape do think mo is currently in for 1500 ( maybe use his pal rupp as an additional guide - 3'50i ) ???
perhaps a hint - he ran 3'33.9pb before he teamed up with sal & coudn't get anywhere close to 13-flat at the time
then use a little comparison up to get a 3k time based on komen
if this run is indicative of mo being in mid-50 shape in an open 400 with 0 wind & nice temperature
( meaning his speed has probably improved by 0.75 - 1s since joining sal ) & he's got all his 10k endurance, then he can not quite, but almost re-write the record books
i'd go with these a prelim :
50.50 / 1'46.80 ->
3'30.11 !!
4'46.17
7'21.97 !!!
12'43.34 !!
26'39.18
to
50.50 / 1'46.70 ->
3'29.75 !!!
4'45.59 !!
7'20.88 !!!
12'41.06 !!
26'33.37 !
i don't know if he is going to chase the clock this year, but sub-3'30 & even a very close shot at komen's wr is on ( he will likely be well shy of the 5k )
i think mo's best event is likely to be 3k despite being 5k/10k champ
this is going to give some posters here an irruption
if he is even faster than 50.5, say 50.0 - 50.25, then he can re-write the record books
50.25 / 1'46.40 ->
3'29.53
4'45.50
7'21.19
12'42.49
26'38.73
to
50.25 / 1'46.30 ->
3'29.17
4'44.92
7'20.10
12'40.21
26'32.93
or
50.00 / 1'46.00 ->
3'28.95
4'44.83
7'20.41
12'41.64
26'38.29
to
50.00 / 1'45.9 ->
3'28.59
4'44.25
7'19.31
12'39.37
26'32.48
not just demoilishing the 2k/3k wrs but imagine a 3'28 from a 5k/10k guy !!!
farah no doubt can go 50 flat or even a bit under for 400m
i mean, 50.8 in the wind? Go ahead and look at the list of guys that ever closed in sub 51. Everyone on that list was good for 49 flat or better.
end of story.
50.9 is one of the fastest last laps in distance running history.
Bekele typically closed his big races in 52 or 53. He would always go 26.xx and 26.xx. He never ran 51 to my knowledge, let alone 50. This is the world record holder who was also known for his deadly kick.
Haile would close around 53 as well.
Fastest Lagat closed in was 51.9 during that 13:03.
I think the fastest EL G closed in was 51 as well.
50.9 is spectacular. Farah has even more speed than I thought.
In the Lagat-Bekele duel, who was the guy who finished after Mottram squeezing his watch like he thought the officials might not bother to register his time?
Not sure if it was the same race, but Shem Kororia hit his watch button in a near 13:00 race.

Abraham Chebii may be the most explosive kicker in recent distance running history. Even in an era in which a top-class 5000 runner has to be able to close a 13:00 race with a 55 second last lap, Chebii stands out. In the Grand Prix Final at the end of the 2002 season, he clocked 50.68 for his last 400 meters, and he didn't start his full sprint until 250 to go. As he says, however, "It is easy to kick when the pace is slow. You must be able to follow a fast pace and then kick."
Alex Kipchirchir 49.4--Fastest recorded last lap. IAAF World Cup 9/16/2006
Event report: The Kenyan, however, just had too much and he pulled away to win by 6 metres in a stunning 3:52.60, one of the slowest major 1500 races (3:52.60) and the fastest final 400 metres (49.4), any one now living has ever seen.
Have you ever considered that your calculator is wrong? Get a grip, my friend. Just because can run under 50 doesn't mean he's going to run 7:19. Your posts are ridiculous.

I hope this is a troll post.

You're right. He'd already run 12:57 which is under 13 flat!
