Who are these guys??
And you just told everyone that you only follow American track and field.
Bosse is a well known talent from France, where have you been the last years?
"might be clueless" is a better nick
I like Gatlin's attitude, but I don't have anything against Bolt.
I wanted to see Gatlin's persistence pay off, so I'm sort of glad he got it.

Like a Bosse!

Gatlin, despite the cheating ban, seems like a genuinely nice guy who's trying to make amends. Good for him.
According to Wikipedia, Bosse just turned 21 and was 10th in his semi in London. Unless I was French, or I followed the 800 very closely, there is no reason why I would have heard of him.
Bolt and Felix looked tired.
Bolt is absolutely a physical specimen with his toned muscles and low body fat.
Tyson gay is also pretty fit.
Gatlin doesn't look nearly as intimidating, but he gets it done.

Thought the announcers said he's 23?

Not sure about Benedetti, but Bosse is a rising star.
Funny this is the first time I've seen his name mentioned on letsrun. Out of curiosity, has the US ever had a runner go 1:43.XX at age 21?
maybe earl jones?

Gee, here's a thought: Why not get rid of the rabbits altogether and see if these so-called world class runners have the guts to push themselves to a fast time?

They don't. This is a proven fact. 80% of the time even when there are rabbits they don't bother going with them. I don't know why you even want to try and remove the rabbits and see what happens, we already know what happens.

Getting rid of rabbits might be a good idea. However, these world class runners (not "so-called") tend to not push for the fastest time possible for reasons that have nothing whatsoever to do with "guts" or lack thereof.

Very nice job by her, and by Lolo, too, I must say.
I didn't see the race, but 12.70 has got to be the fastest time for Lolo in what....three years?
Looks like the comeback is workin out.

I love seeing someone show intelligence in their running/racing via tactical racing. Fast winning times allow historical comparisons and perhaps demonstrate athletic progression but is not the point of racing. I would rather see an American beat a good field in a slowish time than to get 5th in a fast time.
Having said that, meet promoters want the records because it helps with sponsorship and prestige. It is a good investment for them.
I also see value in rabbits at races like Payton Jordan and Oxy for qualifying times necessary for international races.
