So the other day I accidentally hit my toe really hard on the wall and now it hurts just a tad/feels a bit awkward. When I run, I just don't feel like I have my normal stride. The injury occurred on the 4th toe on my right foot (the toe next to the smallest toe). I think the injury may be affecting my form and now the metatarsals on the left side of my right foot hurt, probably as a result of overcompensating?
Some additional info: I've been doing about 5-7 miles every day at about 6:30-6:35 pace since I'm just in a base-building phase (Although on Saturday, I ran 9 miles at 6:16 pace because I got a little too competitive with my running group. Ordinarily that wouldn't be too hard, but with my toe and where I currently am in my training, it probably wasn't a good idea). I'm wondering what I should do - run through it (I read a few old LR topics and most said to run through it) or take some time off? Any input is appreciated and thanks in advance!
