Lagat, Ritz, Teg, Sol, Webb and Hall are at the end of their careers. Rupp will continue to be a success for several years. Derrick and Jager seem to be the next great talents.
There is a lot of HS talent emerging. Let's hope they are well coached.

The big makh daddy looked like shit today.
they always told me in high school, "run THROUGH the line, do not stop unti you are PAST the post." now i know why
351.78 gets you 10th in the bowerman mile
think how far back webb would be
Did Leo Manzano step off the track with less than 100 meters to go? Official results show DNF but when Kiplagat and Kiprop were finishing, I saw Leo still running with about 75-80 meters to go.
On TV, he went through in 49.38. That is not going out in 50. Scherer is good but he was off his game today.

Don't Blame Scherer. He was hired to go out in 50 and that's what he hit. Others have gone out that fast in the past. Everyone else was just slow like in a number of the other events today.
I didn't even realize Leo was in the race.
Link to results?

Why do you take shots like this? Webb's 2X world top 10, multiple US champ & multiple record-holder.
Are you going to take shots at Rupp or Cain at the end of their careers?

Looks like Manzano is going sponsorless at least until US champs. If he doesn't win there, he might go longer
Big Makh Daddy hung out in the back too long. Realized he had no room to move up with 400 to go and just phoned it in. He will be ready to roll come Worlds.

And don't claim you weren't taking a shot at him, or to not be sensitive. **You** made the post & I'm calling you on it.

Symmonds over Solomon though, apparently Duane tried to sit back this time, and times were slower across the board as a result.
Gotta give Solomon props for varying his strategies and working on different race tactics.
these guys have cycled off. makhlhoufi dominated every round in the Olympics, then blew everybody away in the final despite not conserving any energy, and despite being \'injured.\' obviously the improved testing this year is really giving a lot of athletes second thoughts
1 KIPRUTO Conselsus KEN 8:03.59 MR
2 KOECH Paul Kipsiele KEN 8:05.86
3 MEKHISSI BENABBAD Mahiedine FRA 8:06.60
KEMBOI Ezekiel KEN DQ

He was told to go out in under 50. 49.38 is perfect because the person you're pacing will be roughly .3-.5 seconds behind you. Scherer did fine, no one followed.
Indeed. Feels good to see the olympic gold medalist running as slow as webb did in High school. Kinda puts a huge red flag next to your name that says 'YEAH I WAS CHEATING BIG TIME IN LONDON"

Taoufik Makhloufi was up down into 11th in 3:52.94 in the mile but don't be surprised if he turns up like a rocket in Moscow....first race in season .

Can't say that about Ritz, he looked really good out there today, he seems to have a lot left on the track, let alone the marathon.
Its still Solinksy's first few races the first time back, he hasn't done any really fast work so he didn't run a great 15. I think he'll return.
RIP: D3 All-American Frank Csorba - who ran 13:56 in March - dead
RENATO can you talk about the preparation of Emile Cairess 2:06
Rest in Peace Adrian Lehmann - 2:11 Swiss marathoner. Dies of heart attack.
Running for Bowerman Track Club used to be cool now its embarrassing
Hats off to my dad. He just ran a 1:42 Half Marathon and turns 75 in 2 months!
I think Letesenbet Gidey might be trying to break 14 this Saturday
