Is anyone on this board running the George Sheehan Classic this year? The race usually features elite foreign runners. It would be nice to see some elite Americans mix it up with them.

Should be a great time! There will be a "puking for distance" contest on Tower Hill at mile 4. I think I will still be in Fair Haven when the Kenyans finish, though.
I'm from Jersey and was looking forward to racing one of the top road races in America. I was in top 10 finish shape before my back injury. Now I'm just looking to run it for fun. If not I'll be there watching some of the best runners in the world go at it in the front pack. Should be an awesome race. Mile 4 at Tower Hill is a killer....
Go for the Vision Quest!
The Johson Bros. ran there last year. I believe Wejo was pacing Rojo. If I remember correctly, Rojo turned in a decent performance given the conditions. It was quite humid out. I was hoping they would return this year but due to injuries that's not possible. Wejo/Rojo, if the race fits into your training schedule next year would you guys consider running it again? I liked to see you guys go at with the elite foreign runners again. I've been waiting for some Americans to show up and kick some ass in this race for a few years now. I think the winner walks away with quite a bit of money. I believe in years past they have given cars to the winners.
How did it go this year? Are the results up anywhere because I did not see a link yet on the race page?
Kenyan's dominated the race. Stephen Ondieki came in 7th or 8th, in 24:25. The top men went through the mile in 4:30-4:35. The were two American guys trying to hold on but were already laboring at the mile. Winning time was 23:22.
Using "Different Name" this time because I don't need to get slammed as me.
Sheehan came to speak at my college when I was a senior and had just run my first marathon. I ran this marathon with some more experienced yet slower marathoners than I would have been, but at the time I was very intimidated by it since I had never run one. Anyway, we ran as a group, and we finished in 3:58.
I asked Sheehan what time I could expect to run since I had a 10,000 PR at the time of 31:53. I told him I had just run my first marathon and wasn't happy with the time but that I just did it for experience and to finish it. "What did you run that marathon in", he asked. "3:58", I said.
He grumbled something and walked away in disgust and never answered my question.
