well i'm grad school at App now. and from what i hear they win about every year. so i'll say they'll win this year too just for the hey of it.

I'll assume you are talking about the men.
1. ASU
2. UTC
3. UNCG
4. ETSU
5. Davidson
6. Furman
The top three will distance themselves with the battle between ASU and UTC being a very close one.
1. UTC
2. APP
3. UNCG
4. ETSU
5. Furman
6. Davidson
1. Appalachian State University - Return entire squad from last season plus a few additions. Rumors of a miler heading to the mountain. These men are ready to roll. Now if they can only update that website...
2. University of Tennessee at Chattanooga - Also return entire squad from last season. Koscis a determined front runner. 5th man last year was the weak spot. Can the Mocs avoid injury this year?? Any recruiting rumors??
3. East Tennessee State University - Only lose one from last year's team. Two good recruits I have seen (press releases... one Kenyan.. one Tennesseean). Will the newcomers be enough of an impact to make a legitimate bid for second or first this year?
4. Western Carolina University - Lose NCAA qualifier to graduation. A few of the boys are on the right track to pick up where he left off. A classic Danny Williamson recruiting class that will develop.
5. University of North Carolina at Greensboro - Not sure what crop they cultivated this recruiting season. Definite up and comers in the SoCon with their now seasoned veterans. How fast will they rise??
6 and 7. Tossup between Furman University and Davidson College. FU loses their front runner while DC loses two key runners. Once again, no idea on recruits. Web not updated.
App got a new yankee 3:51 1500m runner to go with their already deep squad. Curcio says this is a great team!!
bump
3:51 1500m runner. Holy Cow App is going to be incredible. Oh' 3:51 would not even qwualify for the regional meet. To bad this 3:51 guy only has one year left as he is 25. No good recruits for App. This is the last year APP can win SOCON as they graduate the top 3. Bon Voyage APP enjoy the ride.
In the SoCon 3:51 is good. The SoCon is no powerhouse.
who's going to win the socon after this year. UTC loses all their guys soon and they are going non-scholarship after graduation. ETSU is gone. Western has never had a good xc team. App is the only school with a half decent program left. The SoCon is dead.
Are these DI teams? I have never heard of them.
Where did you hear UTC was going non-scholarship? DO you know the reason? Not the rumor reason. Tell me wear you heard this so I can read up on it please.
youd have to live in the south to have heard of these teams.
1. app or utc
2. who cares, no one else close
what is the 3:51 guys name, wheres he from??
To relieve huh?? of his ignorance...

SoConfans... If 3:51 is good enough to win the conference meet, it is good enough to qualify for regionals since the winner gets an automatic birth. App has been good without a 3:51 type guy in the past. This is icing on the cake.
Whore...

The conference is not dead yet... who is gonna take ETSU's place?
Bump
WCU 4th? You gotta be kidding. Rumors of the ETSU Kenyan abound but there are no times on the releases about him. Just because he is Kenyan doesn't mean he's going to be a stud. Don't know about the TN kid. ASU and UTC both return full squads and will battle once again. Don't know what WCU got, but I can't believe their class is good enough to put them up to 4th. UNCG had a better top 4 than anybody besides ASU and UTC last year and they were a soph and three frosh. All they need is one solid recruit to finish in the top 25 and they are 3rd. They seem to be recruiting well and moving up in the conference lately. Davidson loses a ton and will probably fall quite a bit this year. Furman loses their front runner but bring back a good top guy. Who knows what they will have to back it up. I stand by my top three of ASU, UTC, UNCG.
By the way, are the rumors of Curcio leaving to Coastal Carolina true? Also, who is the coach now at UNCG and who is recruiting all these guys? Isn't the bald guy gone?
UNCG coaching:
http://www.uncgspartans.com/sports/xcountry/coaches.asp
Their XC roster has no freshmen listed and their only senior is a thrower. I'm sure Nyugen has brought in some guys but I have seen no evidence of this ergo a press release nor heard any rumors. A web update seems to be in order.
WCU: Overlooked Watkins was a senior last year... revision UNCG 4th, WCU 5th
The curcio thing was addressed in the COASTAL CAROLINA thread last week.
ETSU only loses Haefner. If all the other guys improve and one of those two guys come through they will remain a lock in at least 3rd. It's a 50-50 chance one of them will.
Don't know about the whole recruiting class at greensboro but here is something.
http://www.delawareonline.com/newsjournal/sports/2004/06/27gibsonburnsuptr.html
Gibson ran 9:31 in the 2 mile at the high school indoor championship meet.
Adam Van Nortwick St Lawrence (D3) 1:53; 3:51; 25:40
Also adding a grad student I think (8:20s and 14:40s)
Got a couple of 9:40 type kids (9:40s) and on of the Longoria twins from NC state champion xc team
Plenty to work on it seems for this year and future years. Classic Curcio recruiting class. He tends to develop them pretty well.
ETSU loses Haefner, Yewer( was too old to compete this year), and And Grufferty(didn't pick his scholarship back up)
