as best i can tell, he began running his "good" times no sooner than 9mo before his GRR/NYRR back to back week. prior to that, he had heaps of 14:50's, lots of 30:xx's, and perhaps one or two 29:30's. nothing there that I can honestly use to bolster an argument for why one would expect him to run the equivalent of almost 13 flat (which is what his half equates to- within a couple seconds). considering he's (to my knowledge) never been tested out of competition (a quick check of usada records shows this), he fights an uphill battle in the court of public opinion.
btw, sorry if i was insinuating you were supporting him, wasn't intentional at all, and I appreciate someone playing devils advocate. I had the same debate about solinsky when he ran sub 27 and sub13, but i think at least we expected the sub 13 at some point.
