So, what do you think I am being dense about? I know that her history and appearance etc give her marketability. [said so] I know that she is a very good runner in an increasingly competitive US distance scene where she might but might not be top-3 at the Trials over her career. [said so]
I hope she is around for a long time, I personally enjoy the view of her and her friends! https://twitter.com/mountainCLYDE/status/328991254455152640/photo/1

Steve's Law III: As an online discussion involving women grows longer, the probability of a loser advertising themselves through childish remarks about women's appearances approaches 1
Honestly, I get a Rain Man vibe with those 2. I think you can figure out who is who.

I think that as a pro, when she is training full time with no distractions from school she will get down to the 15:00-15:10 range and 30:50-31:00. She is still young and developing. Ultimately she will run 2:20-2:22 in the marathon.
I hope she gets a good coach and training program after college.
As a strength runner, if she can ever get in the 14:50 range for 5000m then she will be competitive on the world scene for 10000m.

I'm a semi-flaming homo and I think it's a cute pic
I hope that she doesn't sign with the evil empire. Nike will turn her into a freak and not nearly as much of a focus as she would receive elsewhere. Alberto will have her thyroid messed up for life.
That is a tricky issue, she is so attached to Nike right now. I would like to see her train under someone like Jack Daniels in Flagstaff...........

Great picture. She may be odd but she is obviously a great friend to have.
Who has Daniels coached of any note? As a big time D1 coach, with insider information, I can't think of anyone.

She's for sure going with Nike and Alberto.

She's exactly the same age as Prefontaine when he ran the Munich 5000m. For some perspective on how young Pre was at the time.
Don't be so certain that she won't train in Eugene with the OTC Elite group. She would have some excellent teammates, including silver medal winner, Sally Kipyego.

That is, indeed, the inside "guess," but who would she train with?
She'll go back to her HS coach.
Tara Erdmann for one. I don't feel right revealing my sources, but come back to this thread after Jordan graduates and the announcement is made.

I'm a female runner a year younger than Jordan, and I've been a fan since I was a freshman in high school. She has most certainly had an impact on the sport in this country. She was one of the few runners that everybody on my high school team knew, and I think she has done a lot for high school girls/women's distance running by becoming a female household name among runners (similar to Webb, etc. for the boys).
She has been amazingly consistent, and it's hard to believe she has been at a high level for nearly a decade! She is proof that good coaching, patience, and hard work can make you keep improving, despite what people say about immediately writing off "young stars" as future cases of burn out. Even if she never makes an Olympic team, she has still accomplished a huge amount and will still be a lasting name in the sport. While I'm not as big of a "fan girl" anymore, I remember getting really excited about Hasay running in the Olympic Trials, setting HS records, winning state, etc. I think it was what really got me into the sport/following the sport, and she has been a big role model for many runners. There are many runners as fast as her or faster, like you point out - and I think they all definitely deserve plenty of attention too. It's just the fact that Hasay has been on the map for nearly a decade, was so dominant in high school and never dodged competition/raced regularly, etc. (not to mention the big comeback of winning Footlocker her senior year) and on top of that, is a very likeable person, that makes so many cheer for her.
