This program is high mileage for a 1500m runner by my standards. You don't train for an event lasting 4 minutes by running for two hours.
Huh? Then why does Willis spend one day a week doing a continuous run of up to two hours? Would he have been better off doing another day of intervals or sprints? He's got Olympic silver and bronze medals.
I'd define high mileage for a 1500m runner as the 90 that Steve Scott ran in winter. Or the 100 base (more or less) of Peter Snell. 70-75 miles a week isn't high for a 1500m runner.
