Did you not know ha PRs are mixed with black? Where do you live? Is your template from West Side Story
If you watch the video the meet director had lapped runners move to lane two so Arroyo spent close to the entire race in lane one. Still an amazing run and I maintain it would be worth 8:40s in better conditions
If he would have kept going he would be the third high schooler from the USA to run under 1;50 for 800 meters and under nine minutes for two miles.
Here is the weather for Orlando -- warm but not steamy, especially note that the dew point was dropping in the afternoon. [what time was the race? Sunday was not wuite as hot but the dew point was 70
Note the first temperature number is the (regular dry bulb) Temperature, the second is the Dew Point then the Relative Humidity.

I think the race was at like 3 or 4
I checked the conditions in Winter Park at weather.com immediately after the race result was reported and it was 87 degrees 44% relative humidity, which corresponds to the listed reading at 1553 hours.
I live in north Florida and went for a run in the early afternoon. It wasn't oppressive but you could certainly notice the humidity. I don't think the heat on the day would have any effect at one mile. For a 5k it would be significant. Everyone can have his own estimate of the effect at 2 miles. We'll see what's up when the top guns toe the same start line.

8:51 solo in the heat/humidity indicates better fitness than an 8:45 in ideal conditions with a ton of competition. Both Arroyo and Saarel are fit enough to run under 8:40. Who has better fitness over that distance? We won't know unless they get into a non-HS only field where they are taken to their limit.
It's ignorant to make a comment like that. 8:45 closing in 55 is unheard of...has that ever happened? That guy was worth a mid 8:30 in the same conditions so its not so black and white. That said I would not be shocked to see arroyo low 8:40 over 2miles.
The greatest thing? He looked RELAXED.
I think this class is looking pretty deep. Burcham is not that good rhis year but Montoya, arroyo, chesereck, Mcgorty, plus the Utah kid are all looking strong
