As long as she puts in the work (and no-one has questioned her level of effort and professionalism despite all the media stuff) i wouldn't have a problem. I'd see it as a statement reflecting her level of motivation to succeed. You want the person pushing the sled who wants a medal and not someone who is happy just to have got the Olympics.
Given her apparently lack of any filter on what she says, I expect she's already said this to her teammates, and I doubt they would care. I'm sure they want someone who is desperate for a medal.

I was a fan of Lolo, but she's really testing my patience at this point. For making a show of being such a good Christian and remaining a virgin, her lack of humility, and her blatant worship of golden idols is pretty un-Christian.

I agree with other folk's sentiments, she really is just an attention whore at this point. Get over it. You didn't win a medal. Lots of tremendous athletes didn't win Olympic medals. The know in her case, "desperate" means "Driven."
Lolo has mountains of charisma, and her teammates get that she was being ironic, and referring to how scary bobsledding can be.
The girl has courage, drive, and a work ethic unlike any of the haters here do.
Seeing how the bobsled team had to 'invite' athletes from other sports to try out for the team indicates they are well aware of their status among Olympics sports. There are reason it is a very small niche sport in the US that people are only interested in during the Olympics.
If Lolo does win a gold medal in the bobsled, could we see Cool Runnings 2 released?

I think they may like. It would be better if she was obsessed with only a gold medal instead of getting any medal. The ones who really want to the gold and see the other medals as losers usually get the gold.

my understanding is that bobsledders are actually pay to play - that except for maybe top 2 US sleds, they have to use their own money to buy their equipment. Which is very expensive.
At least in t/f there is some sponsor support. And $30,000 in a running context can keep you going for a year - in bobsled $30K gets you a sled. And then you still have to pay for food, shelter, transport to Europe, etc.

So is this also an indication that other track athletes who have done bobsled are "slumming it?" Some names that come to mind are Hershel Walker, Willie Gault, lesser known Illini Bob Oleson, EIU decathlon grads Darrin and Dan Steele...
When her hurdle partners were dogging Lolo for getting all the attention even though they had better results and records, wasn't Lolo quoted saying she had US records too? Those were her indoor records she spoke of, not? Well she must not be too impressed with her own indoor world champs golds if she totally discounts those.

Indoor WCs are definitely not comparable to Olympics, but Outdoor WCs certainly are. However, my point regarded LoLo in one instance using her indoor US record as a reason for her track acclaim and in another instance totally blowing off the signifigance of her Indoor WC awards. Doesn't seem to square up.
