He was by me before we broke in so I'll back up the fact that he blitzed the hell out of everyone in that race.

Results:
Finals
1 Edward Kemboi JR Iowa State 1:45.98 1
2 Sean Obinwa SR Florida 1:47.76 1
3 Billy Ledder JR Georgetown 1:47.89 1
4 Andres Arroyo FR Florida 1:47.97 1
Kemboi bettered his outdoor PR of 1:46.06. And, to put that in context, when he ran 1:47.43 indoor last year, that was a school record.
And, although somewhat overshadowed, that's a great result for the frosh Arroyo. Winning time in SEC outdoor last year was 1:47.74.

lower division runners running credible D1 times are great picks to reach elite status after college with the right training partners and coaches. I'm not saying that this guy is Nick Symmonds or Will Lear, but he may be running 1:45s in three years.
So now this guy's run 1:46.5i less than a year later. It is a huge signal when a lower division runner blasts very fine times because that shows an unrecognized talent competing and training far above his league, and those guys have a world of potential. He has almost as good a chance as any current American distance collegian to make world and Olympic teams in the future.
nice result from Arroyo as well after no appearance in xc.
If yall didn't notice...
Windle is now 1:46.52
3x NCAA 800m champion, indoor 2013, outdoor 2013, indoor 2014.
1x NCAA 4x4 champion, indoor 2013.
1x NCAA DMR champion, indoor 2014.
Tripled at last 2 NCAA Championship indoor meets.
Is a true junior.
What more do you want from a D2 kid.
And for everyone high on Kemboi running 1:45.98 - let's not forget he's Kenyan born. Everyone makes a big stink about his time drop as well. Hm.
Indoor best - 1:47.43 > 1:45.98 = 1.45 seconds
Outdoor previous best - 1:46.06
Windle
Indoor best - 1:48.75 > 1:46.52 = 2.23 seconds
Outdoor previous best - 1:48.04
Now what is more significant?
+1

would be impressive for a high school sophomore
Windle is a stud and going to keep getting better. I wouldn't be surprised in seeing him make the finals of US Nationals in the 800 sometime in the next three years.
But as far as wondering why he doesn't get much attention, keep in mind the thread was started by a D2 runner, or alum. They naturally focus on mainly D2 running. 4:04-4:08 is considered outstanding mile running. If someone ran a 4:00 they would expect a big front page notice for that when 25 or 30 runners do it every year (at least).
