Yeah, the Arkansas runner in the DMR is the same one in the 3k. He doesn't seem like a saavy racer.

What\'s the time frame for protesting violations of a track meet? If the Northeastern runner got tossed, I think at least 5 more should be tossed for cutting off runners without a \"stride\" advantage.
I have watched the replay several more times. As they come up to the line to start the bell lap, Erassa moves out to pull up along side Lalang. Campbell then drops down to the inside of lane one behind Lalang. Jenkins then comes by Campbell and cuts in on him causing the chain reaction of the tripping and grabbing. The contact was Jenkins' fault. It probably should have been let go but those that are trying to put blame on Campbell don't know what you are talking about.

Can you post the replay?

No. I was watching it on espn3. If you get espn3, go there to watch the repay.
I don't think anyone was pulled off of anything. This seems to be embellished...

Clear dq, look at the pictures of flotrack, you can't grab someone's singlet and pull them back!

How can you see him pulling the other runner back by those photos? Can anyone show where Jenkins pulled the Ok State runner off the track as Dave Smith's protest stated?

Indeed.
And you can't get yourself into trouble by drifting in, and then do whatever it takes to get yourself out of trouble.

Jenkins is moving up on the outside with a clear path in lane 2. He suddenly dives down into lane 1 and grabs the jersey of Erassa. Erassa then stumbles and a stride later steps on the rail. Did the contact change the outcome of the race? Probably not. Was Jenkins at fault in the contact? Absolutely.
Many of you are right on the money. If Jenkins was at Oregon, or Arkansas, or Texas A&M he would have not been DQ'd. The NCAA Track & Field Committee, and the referee's they hire are basically afraid of those coaches/schools. I have witnessed first-hand the big-boys get away with stuff that the little schools can't. Anyone who tells you its equal if lying. And Dave Smith would never file a protest against Arkansas kid or Oregon kid....why....he would be blackballed by those coaches. Screwing over a small NE school has no affect. Just the way the game is played. True story. There was an honest mistake taking someone into the nationals from a "big" school" and rather than call the big school coach and say there was a mistake, the NCAA took one more athlete into the meet. When it happened the next year with a small school kid they had no problem calling the school. This happens all the time and is just the way it is.
ridiculous

Thanks for the video link! I have watched that incident and you make it so much more dramatic than I see it. Amazing that there was no crowd noise like there was in many of the other races when runners were bumped, shoved, cut off, and truly impeded.
Watch the race two laps ealier and see the OK State guy pass and bump a couple of other runners. Both could be considered impeding a runner, but both should have been no calls in my opinion.

Right, Erassa cut in and elbowed Jenkins as he passed him at 6:28 in the race.
this guy is a super talent, to run 4:15 on that mileage, if true, and then to drop to 3:58-9/7:46 so quickly. Is he akin to Wheating in talent with that kind of improvement after a late start or does he lack the speed?
I just now looked at the photos on FT.
From my view of the photos, Jenkins touching Erassa pushed him forward if anything, but certainly did not pull him back, as claimed by FT. You can tell from the photos that Erassa was still very close to Lalang and in fact after the touch was moving out wider to get on his shoulder. That is why Campbell clipped his foot.
Jenkins touching Erassa's back certainly did not knock him off the track as claimed by Smith, who lied about that on the protest. Apparently the official didn't look at the race to verify that was false.
I'd love to run a 3k with someone pushing my back all the way, as it would be quite a bit faster, but wouldn't count as it would be an assistance, certainly not a hindrance. How exactly do you go backwards with somebody pushing your back!
Jenkins ran a great race and challenged Lalang. I'm looking forward to see more of his races.
I would have loved to sit in on the decision making process that the officials used while supposedly watching the video of the race. Shameful!
Jenkin's feet are in lane 2 in photos 3 through 7, including the touch on Erassa's back.
I think Erassa was running erratically, Campbell was running too close to him and did step on his foot, which certainly impeded him. Jenkins did not cause Campbell to do that. Maybe Campbell sped up when Jenkins was passing and didn't have room to do so.
It seems to me that the touch by Jenkins did not cause any harm. In any case, there are more races to be run.

No, it's blocked by erassa's arm. That is a pretty terrible picture to try to prove your point.
