Why are you using 4:23.3 as a mile time when you said her 4:28i converts to 4:25?

i'd be surprised if her 4'28i was a perfectly even paced race with perfect drafting to 3/4 especially seeing as she's 16y & she doesn't have many elite level races under her belt to judge pace ideally
if she was nearer 26y, i'd look for a line of fit nearer 4'25
Where is the "Cain Ducks Ajee Wilson" thread?
2:02.64.
I really hope she runs in college. I would love to see her double or triple at the NCAA indoor and outdoor champs.

It's clear that this board is populated by a lot of guys who don't know the age at which girls hit puberty. It's about age 12 or 13, btw. It's doubtful that Mary Cain's body type is going to change significantly at her age, unless she goes on a serious food bender.

Cain was the best 800 runner in the field.
Or perhaps the best 600m runner in the field, that's basically what it came down to. Having run a 4:28 mile a week ago, she was probably in the best overall shape as well and would have won the race no matter what. Keeping it real, the usatf mile were our B ladies, with that said, even if line up the big dogs like Uceny, Pierce, Rowbury, Martinez and Barringer, etc., in a tactical race Cain would still be competitive.
Right now I would say Cain is somewhere at the top of the class B or the bottom of class A.
Mary ran 55.74 in an open 400 last spring. Give her a line with 55.0 speed.

No Cain 400 last year, as far as I know.
The 55.74 (55.5h) was in her freshman year. Probably sub-55 now.
There is no thread because Cain is not ducking Wilson.
Cain's coach is ducking Wilson's coach, Derek Thompson.
I don't understand this silliness about Cain still has to go through puberty? She turns 17 on May 3rd. Is she suddenly going to gain 15 lbs and 2 inches in the near future?

well it's more that we have all seen many high school girl phenoms come and go and peak at early ages. I think for most people 'puberty' is just a code for that syndrome.
Even if she doesn't improve for two years from now she'll still be very good.
