We all know Mary Cains form looks bad, but this girl is just hilarious to watch. I've never seen such bad form, and she is that fast! Haha, its incredible

Do we know for sure the 800 is not her best event? What did Ajee Wilson run on her 16th birthday? Faster than 203?
I'm looking forward to seeing Cain put her mind to a serious 800.

Her mechanics could use some work her body looks too forward she could probably drop some time if she saw salazar
Agreed her mechanics could be improved. And yes, of course there is only one coach on earth who can do that.

I was only approximating from the YouTube timer, but I had her very roughly at :29/:59/1:30 for intermediate splits in this race. I think that's pretty reasonable--those would probably be my target splits if I wanted to run ~2:03.
Really?
29/30/31/33??
By IAAF standards, Cain and Anita Hinriksdottir are in the SAME AGE group. Must they be born on the same date?
By your reasoning the only way two people could be the same age is- if they were both born on the same day at the exact same time? Would we need to take time zones into consideration also?
Her forward lean is a bit exaggerated and her core isn't very stable but apart from that her form isn't bad. Nothing that couldn't be corrected as she gets stronger.
Laura Roesler ran that time when she was 16 too, shes still good but not world class, still good enough for ncaa title chance. she ran in olympic trials 08 at 16
Anita Hinriksdottir has awesome form, better than 99.99 percent of all runners.

I agree. A bit too forward and it looks like she is 'reaching' with her legs, but thatll be fixed when shes propped up a bit. But kudos to her and Cain - their horrible forms are working for them.

I'd like to know what typing of training this girl does in Iceland in the wintertime. Has to be brutal.
She probably runs down a volcano or does sprint training in front of rampaging rivers of lava.
What has she run for 3,000m
That's great their are other 16 year old running fast, but Mary Cain is American and she is getting press because she is our present and future best! Who wouldn't want to root for the highschool girl beating all the pros! I find this post silly, why do we have to know some gal in Iceland is running fast? Does letsrun need to have her on the front page? Stupid Europeans hating on us as always!
Just watched the video and impressive front running. Would be good to see how Cain, this girl and Judd develop as runners
It would be interesting on paper only.
Anita ran 2:03.27 in a solo effort
200 splits - 28.8 - 29.9 - 31.3 - 32.6
Wilson ran 2:02.64 in a race
200 splits x - 31.19 - 31.20 - 31.61
Cain ran a mile, with last 800 in 2:08.62 (virtually by herself)
last 600 splits 32.53 - 29.27 - 29.34
Now tell me, who do you think would win?
Best closing speed usually wins!

I'm liking this girl more and more.
Pretty good marathon time, if not a WR?
I look forward to the Millrose 800 where Mary will race Anita and others.

Me too, I think Ajee Wilson is also running.
RIP: D3 All-American Frank Csorba - who ran 13:56 in March - dead
Great interview with Steve Cram - says Jakob has no chance of WRs this year
RENATO can you talk about the preparation of Emile Cairess 2:06
Hats off to my dad. He just ran a 1:42 Half Marathon and turns 75 in 2 months!
