I've been cycling consistently for several weeks due to a running injury. I thought the two activities would be similar as they both are endurance sports. Other than allowing you to enjoy being outside, cycling doesn't give me the same state of euphoria that running gives me. The only part of cycling that I think is similar to running is when you are doing a really long climb (like 30+ minutes) over something like a mountain pass. You have to pace yourself, conserve something for the end and when you get to the top there's a big sense of accomplishment. Other than that feeling I don't really enjoy it that much.
How come running makes you feel this way whereas bicycling doesn't?
