400s? 800s? 1000s? Miles?
400s? 800s? 1000s? Miles?
400.
I might pick something short like 100m. Instead of e.g. 10 x 400 with 1 minute rest I'd do 40 x 100 with ~15 seconds rest at the same pace.
300's.
I have a tendency to hammer 200's all of the time regardless of intention of the workout because it's the closest I'll ever get to running a sub-4 pace.
300's with 100m jog all damn day. You can switch from mile to 5K pace on each rep and can get a lot of volume.
the distance from the couch to the fridge and back
For what distance race? Do we pick the same distance repeat for 800m and 10000m training?

I would do something obscure, like 932m repeats. This way, if I got to be fast off of it, I would tell people the secret to it is 932m repeats.
mile reps.
26 miles 385 yards
200m
If you're only allowed to do one, best to pick something short. That way you can just take short rest of you want to work on slower/higher volume stuff. I'd probably pick 400s.
600m all the way. Think about it.
800's
You can do a few of them fast enough to get moving, but you can also do them slower in big stacks to work on endurance.
a 1500 runner can do 800s, a marathoner can do 800s
One of 300, 400, 600 depending on specialty.
Definitely 400. You can do whatever you want with those, and you can simulate pretty much any workout that can be done with longer repeats.
Better yet, do 100s. If you're training for a marathon, do a lot of them with just a second or two of rest.
ehh this is tough between 600s 800s and 1000s.... would have to say 800s though
600s
miles. You can adjust the pace and rest depending on the workout. But then again I am a half-full marathon type.
995 meters. I always ease up the last couple of steps of 1Ks because I'm a wuss so it makes sense to just make that the full distance.
200s. So much fun.
