10 seconds in a 3k is massive. Think 5 seconds per 1500. Thats like saying anyone who has run 3:31 for 1500 is on drugs.

So Komen Runs 7:20 OUTSIDE and is widely accepted as a massive user of performance enhancers. Rupp runs ~9 seconds slower indoors, and we no one brings "it" up here? lolololol
Umm, Komens outdoor time is leagues ahead of the #2 time.
Rupp just ran the #7 fastest indoor of all time. Not a great slam Bro, but thanks for the libel.

Epic failure on your part, understanding libel.

The free internet gives us the chance to come out of the dark ages and parochial corporate coverage. FT is trying to insure the crappy coverage continues forever.
A better solution would be to provide their coverage, but with no restrictions on anyone else doing the same. Service should be based on value, not exclusionary practices.

The old corporate fascist dictatorship coverage of sporting events needs to end! Let the players stream away! It is not like the old land-line phone days where telephone monopolies were somewhat 'justified'.

Since when does iTunes have EXCLUSIONARY distribution rights for music?!?
End all EXCLUSIONARY distribution rights for sporting events, especially for college events in publically supported venues!!!

He mentions he hopes to beat Mo this year.

I think Galen was inspired b/c he thought the meet was named after HIM:
"2013 IAAF XL Galan Indoor Meeting Stockholm"
great job Galen
amazing time
The 1500 record is 3:26; if your approach was correct, the 3000 record would be 6:52, not 7:20. The doubling rather than adding 7.29% to the distance makes the error of simple extrapolation more apparent but the effect applies there to. The standard adjustment for the increase of 7.29% in distance is to add 8% (some use 7.9+%) in time. No one ever seems to think that the record time for the 2000 should be just 33.33% more than the record time for the 1500 but a surprising number of people seem to think it is ok if the differential 7+%. The exact same factors are involved. The larger the differential (in percent) the larger the difference in pace and thus the larger the slowdown. Think of it as a continuous function.
