Why do more people hate Lance Armstrong than Oscar Pistorius?

Symmonds is truly unintelligent. Gifted runner, but so dense.

Oscar had a one time slip up in judgement that unfortunately resulted in something tragic. He acted without having a chance to fully contemplate his actions. Lance lied about what he was doing for years and had plenty of time to contemplate what he was doing and many opportunities to come clean, but he didnt. I feel bad for what happened to Oscar, but not so much for Lance.

murdering someone with 4 bullets through a locked door hardly is a little "slip up." LA didn't kill anyone.

It doesn't take much brain power to figure this out. Most everyone has long suspected LA of doping, cheating, bullying whatever, so the recent news was no real revelation. People already either loved or hated Lance. It is obvious what side Nick was on.

Before the shocking news coming out of South Africa, no one suspected Oscar of being a murderer. Nick was giving his honest impression of Oscar AS HE KNEW HIM before the murder.

I hate OP more than LA. I hope he rots in jail for at least the next 25 years.

1. You only seems to have 1 data point for the proposition that "people" hate LA more than Pistorious.

2. As to Symmonds, you are trying to manufacture a fake controversy. It's 2 different things: Lance clearly cheated and deserves everyone's contempt. The quote about Pistorius was a reporter asking for an immediate reaction to the news - it's still not clear what happened and Symmonds expressed shock at the news. If Pistorius is later found guilty of murder or found to have used steroids, I wouldn't expect Symmonds to have anything good to say about Pistorius.

Just wonder when they are going after Michael Johnson.

Symmonds just identifies with Pistorius because they're both charismatic, self-promoting turds. Lance Armstrong is a major self-promoter as well, but not at the same level as Symmonds or Pistorius. He happens to get more media coverage because he's accomplished far more in his life than either of them ever will.

Pistorius' fake charm, the absurd lies in his statement, the manipulation of the judge at his trial and any other individuals weak enough to buy his BS... all point to him being a psychopath. I hope that he gets the maximum sentence possible. I've hated the guy ever since he threatened the IAAF with a multimillion dollar lawsuit because they had justifiably concluded that his prosthetics gave him an unfair advantage over his competitors. Judging by his body type, if he were able-bodied, I doubt that he could even break 50 seconds over 400m.

It always drove me nuts how the media and those who only follow the sport of track and field during the Olympics would fawn over him, while legitimately World-class athletes would be all but ignored. Shame on Nike for throwing million dollar contracts the way of athletes like Pistorius and Armstrong, even though the signs of their flaws and eventual demise were readily apparent long ago. If they stopped throwing multi-million dollar contracts the way of cheaters and pieces of human garbage, the sporting World would be better for it.

People had years of suspecting Lance and believing he was getting away with it. People have. known for five days that Pistorius killed his girlfriend. Last Wednesday he was an athlete whose high profile was very good for Paralympic sport. Bump this thread in ten years.
