How on earth could the Cain and RUpp races have gone off simultaneously?? Was this (poorly) planned or just by chance?

*centrowitz and ulrey
7 seconds is a monster lead in a race like that. Too bad he didn't have anyone pushing him. If someone could have stayed even 3-4 seconds back that might have been that little edge of adrenaline he needed to dip below 3:50.
A 3.33-3.34 equiv. in January. I'll say.
Geb's best indoors (in a real race in Europe) ~ 3.33?
Geb ran 3:31.
Geb indoors 3:31.76

And 12:39 and 26:22(?). Let's not get carried away yet.
Still, Rupp showing incredible speed. Certainly a threat in ANY 5k/10k race now. Although I guess that should be obvious from the silver medal...

Rupp had good pacing through 1200m. He was alone the last 400 though. He made it look incredibly smooth.

He also was chasing El Guerrouj.
Right, Geb @ 3.31, thanks. But in any case, agree on the proposition that Rupp/Sal are 'pushing the limits of credibility.'
Not sure if it's harder to wrap one's head around 3.50 in Jan, or let's say, 26.35 in mid-summer.

You see, aside from my handle, it's post like this that make it look like I hate Rupp. Because I can't help responding to the overly-eager speculation...
NOT BEING PUSHED OVER THE LAST 400 DID NOT COST RUPP 0.93 SECONDS.

Um ... the fact that instead of posting "Wow! I may not like Rupp, but that was one hell of a race." after a performance like today is why it seems like you hate Rupp. Maybe my post was somewhat optimistic, but it certainly is reasonable speculation that being pushed might have gotten him that extra .92
Just so we know ... what do YOU have to say about Rupp's run today.

If you seriously believe that you're not pathologically obsessed with Rupp, you need a better (and more honest) therapist.

No he wasn't . El G wasn't in the race. Wrong year, Wong time.

You're right
He ran 3:32 chasing El Guerrouj, 1 second slower

And his 3:31 not chasing him, winning.
