What is the pace for the Women's 2-mile with T. Dibaba looking like it's going to be? If the baby faced destroyer goes out in 2:50 and if Cain goes out in 3:01, they might as well be in separate stadiums. However, I do doubt the first km is in 2:50, but even 5 seconds back can feel like a huge distance on any track.
Why does her being 18 years old matter in setting a Junior record?
very strong opening and even in a rarely run distance a world junior record is great to have. this may be her best distance in fact, given how fast she goes out in her 800m races. nothing wrong in that and she'll add some endurance. it may have been johnny gray's best distance as well, with the world record.
I am not looking forward to Cain's race in Boston. I hope she pulls out of this one and, instead, reads a good book.
Another stupid comment by last poster
Mary Cain is the only HS talent who can run competitively from 800-3K
Look this record was and is soft, no college frosh, or JUNIORS run 600M except at like Big Tens
Wilson has split 53.x I am sure she can run 1:26 dragged along on one of the speedway tracks, she can surely get by in 57.x and get home from there
This is early indoors for Ajee Wilson and I think her first race of the year and she broke a WJR regardless how many athletes/posters from this board can say they broke ANY wjr in track and field?
The fact she is after the AR in her next race indicates she has alot more to give indoors despite her main goal being making the outdoor Worlds team. She is definitely a threat to run sub 2 minute indoors which make her the first American junior to do so and a threat for NCAA title should she decide to run collegiately!
Ajee Wilson is ridiculsouly overrated. You guys just love any "feeling good" story dontcha?!
Ajee's recent accomplishments:
2011 WORLD Youth Champion
2012 WORLD Junior Champion
2013 WORLD Junior Recordholder in first race
Ajee Wilson overrated. How hysterically funny! Stop smoking that Yellow crack, as we all know Ajee Wilson and Mary Cain are both the real deal and will be the future of American middle/long distance running for along time.
Looks like great accomplishments to me and better then most American heck better then ALOT of athlete regardless of nation at that age!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Ajee Wilson and Mary Cain both have me interested in what they will do later on this indoor season and especially outdoors.
Well we at least know that she's a better runner than you are a troll. Step your game up, you're being to obvious.
What's the story with Adidas?
Brilliant writing, Vipam. You embarrass yourself every time you touch your fingers to the keyboard.

^this. I don't get the constant insistence on pulling Cain into discusssions about Wilson either.
Yeah...but can she throw the hammer as far as A.G. Kruger?
Ok I guess we can agree that Mary Cain IS the Real Deal. However Ajee Wilson, whatever her accomplishments in the past, will not achieve much else. Simply put- she peaked too early. She is outrageously overrated by people because of this
Get a life! Ajee Wilson is far from peaking and the remark "WHATEVER HER ACCOMPLISHMENTS IN THE PAST" is one of the most retarded comments from of course an anonymous poster. Ajee coach and mother both stated, "Ajee even in peak form seldomly ever runs for time in the 800m instead focuses on winning."
Ajee Wilson could have run sub 2 minutes when she won the 2012 World Jr Championships; however, the field didn't go out and force her to run such a time.
It's quite amusing that posters try to belittle the only active athlete who have won World titles at every championship (2011 World Youth and 2012 World Jr) she has contested and still is only 18.
