he destroyed some top kenyans, including geoff mutai who has to be at worst in near 27-flat shape anytime of year, by nearly a minute in kenyan police 12k xc ( it's a big race in kenya )
Senior men 12km
1. Geoffrey Kipsang 35:00
2. Geoffrey Mutai 35:54
3. Isaiah Koech 36:19
4. Philemon Kimeli 36:27
5. Bernard Kipyego 36:35
6. Levy Matebo 36:39
7. Collins Ngeno 36:41
8. Philemon Rono 36:52
9. Asbel Kiprop 37:03
10. Lucas Rotich 37:03
- isiah ran 27'17 last year in a poor race for him end of season, got beat by 1'19
- kipyego has an ole 26'59pb, but nothing recent to go on
- lucas off course has a 26'43 losing to kennster in '11 ( when lucas looked bursting with energy & only lost in a sprint after pushing it last coupla laps - he looked ~ 26'35 at even pace & faster opening 5k ) lost by over 2'00 !!!
( obviously x-c may not be lucas's forte, but if uninjured, i can't see him being worse than 27-flat at this time of year )
all this indicates that the kid has got to be hugely under 27-flat currently & really shoud think about dropping down from the M to 10k as he's still only a pup
he has some huge business to attend to over 10k...
