B12 should be all you really need if you have a good diet
Vitamin D is pretty much essential for runners in northern climates. Also omega-3 fish/krill oil to combat inflammation and more. I take B-complex, iron and a Ca/Mg and a probiotic as well. Until this year I took nothing, but this is my best spring of training perhaps ever. Hard to say how much is due to diet/sleep changes as well. Whatever it is, it's working.
Multi-V for quite a long while and concur with the above publication, - best I've found.
Recently I have heard of a product called "The Runner's Multivitamin." I haven't tried it yet but know some people that have, and it seems to work for them.
I recently started taking a multivitamin a lot of bodybuilders take called "Orange Triad". You got to take 3 pills 2 times a day but the reviews on this product are pretty good.. It has quite a following so I'm giving it a try. Might seem expensive (Around $30 but can find it cheaper sometimes) but that gives you 270 capsules (45 day supply)
Maybe check into it and decide for yourself, it has joint support and digestive support in it too.
Best supplements for runners are calcium, zink, B Vitamins, magnesium, whey protein, multivitamins, L-Carnitine, and fish oil. But it has to be noted, some of them can't be taken together. You can ask a doctor or read the descriptions online. I use the Canada Drugs site for this purpose https://www.canadadrugsdirect.com/

The cheapest multivitamin with minerals including iron.

This thread is nonsensical for anyone to follow without having complete blood work done of yourself.
I had mine done a month ago and all I needed to add to my diet was more Vitamin D.
Nobody can tell you what you should or should not be supplementing without blood analysis results.
I heard extra greasy burritos help!
Here's the thing, our body can get sufficient vitamins and nutrients from the food we eat. What I mean is that your diet should be your best source of vitamins and minerals.
You should opt for supplements only after getting yourself checked to find out what resources your body lacks.
Now, if that's taken care of and your doctor recommends vitamin supplements, then I'd suggest to check out Rootine. Just sign up and answer a few questions about your lifestyle and they'll analyse 100+ data points across DNA, blood levels, and lifestyle information to tailor a precision multivitamin specifically for you.
Here are some rootine coupon code to get flat 50% off on your purchase.
I'm confused why anyone would buy rogue multivitamins from places like GNC. Are we not aware that they can add whatever fillers they desire and not list them on the ingredients list? If you really want a legit multi or supplements from legit companies, do some research. There is a reason that most of those vitamin stores make the NCAA banned list of places to get supplements.
The problem is, if there is calcium in the vitamin — it cancels out the iron. You have to make sure the different vitamins can absorb if they’re together in one pill.
A daily CBD tincture has really helped my recovery - I'm in my mid-40s but recover like I did in my early 30s. I ran out of it last year and didn't get around to buying more for a couple weeks, and I couldn't believe the difference it made.
Hammer makes good supplements, they’ve been in business forever. They also make CBD, which I have used and really helps my sleep. They have a good CBD balm too for pain relief.
That said, everyone should have some basic bloodwork done. You can go through InsideTracker or an online lab, you can find a functional medicine doctor who gives a sh!t about your health and they can also recommend QUALITY supplements, things that you can only get through Fullscript, or you can argue with your regular moron PCP who wants you on blood pressure meds, a statin, anti depressants, multiple annual vaxxes, who refuses to check your Vit D and Ferritin levels, and who thinks running more than 15mpw is “bad for your knees.”
Vitamin D has recently been shown to no help prevent fractures.
CONCLUSIONS
Vitamin D3 supplementation did not result in a significantly lower risk of fractures than placebo among generally healthy midlife and older adults who were not selected for vitamin D deficiency, low bone mass, or osteoporosis. DHEA is a good one with several studies showing it's efficacy. I've been using it for a couple years now since I quit running & transitioned to bodybuilding & non-weightbearing cardio/easy jogging due to post-traumatic OA.
Here's a couple of the studies:
Make sure you do your research on the best brands from reputable manufacturers.
I was at a Sprouts whole foods store the other day & they have 5 different brands Online there's like 20 different brands!
It's cost effective & sold as a dietary supplement in the U.S.
